There are no “friends” on Twitter, only followers. As far as I remember neither Deric nor myself follow each other but some of my tweets have clearly impressed him. It’s particularly nice to get a “like” for a tweet from somebody who doesn’t follow you - it proves that it’s a quality tweet.

Sir Terry had a voice as soft as velvet, as soothing as cough medicine and as comforting as sitting in front of a crackling fire in a rocking chair while wearing slippers and sipping a mug of hot chocolate.

He did us proud over on the mainland.

His shortlived TV show “Wogan’s Web” was a much-loved lunchtime staple for me in the six weeks between me being expelled from school and sitting my Leaving Certificate.

Wogan’s Web, The One O’Clock News, and Neighbours. Has there ever been a better daytime TV line-up, apart from Fifteen To One followed by Countdown?

Was in the East Midlands at the weekend. Was having dinner in a local pub last night and it was noticeable how quiet the pub went when the bbc news was on, such was the respect for Wogan. An alright sort by the looks of it
