Gifted actor. As good as The Field and 1984 were, I Claudius still the best
The only one worth mentioning is Mary Tyler Moore. Even though she was more than a ‘celebrity’, a once in a lifetime game changer. Women everywhere like myself are forever grateful for her.

Not by anybody my age and I’m the wrong side of 40. What did you know her from? Balbec is a good bit older so may remember it on TV in the 70s.
From being a well known actress in the 70s. She was nominated for an Oscar for Ordinary People too. You said she wouldn’t be known, of course she would. Just not as well known as others. But she was a groundbreaking actress, she’d be known.
I remember mainly the intro. I preferred the Odd Couple.
In all honesty I’ve never seen her on TV and for that reason I’d be surprised if she had trouble walking through Port Laoise without being surrounded by fans. Her show was one of those American things that didn’t really travel, similar to Gilligans Island which was a massive ratings topper as well.

Ah no, very sad to hear this. He was a hell of an actor and I actually met him.
He’d be well known for Mary Poppins and Chitty Chitty bang bang more than his TV show.
I might recognise him but the average Joe probably wouldn’t.
