Mary Tyler Moore was a huge hit in Ireland. It was shown at primetime on RTE. It also led to two spin off series, both of which were also huge, Rhoda and Lou Grant. In her day MTM would have been one of the most recognisable faces, not just on a TV but in showbiz. She was a huge global star.
