Seanie O Leary. One of Corks greatest
By God. He’d have been no age.
Would he have been 70?
69 apparently
Didn’t he have some health issues as a young man. I could be mistaken. RIP. Will always be remembered for that goal in 84.
Jaysus. Only a young fella
No age
RIP a legend
He only had one kidney afaik
It was something with kidneys alright. Did he wear some protection padding under the jersey.
Dont know boss
Correct. May have donated one of his kidneys to his brother if my memory is correct.

He had plenty of padding under the jersey alright.

Some of the Cork fellas might confirm but as far as I can recall Seanie got a belt of the ball in the face in the puck around before the 1977 All Ireland Final. He had to go into hospital for an operation and while he was in there they discovered a problem with his kidneys and subsequently had a kidney removed. He hurled away for years afterwards winning another couple of All Irelands. A proper goal poacher. The Gert Muller of hurling.
Seanie Leary was an old style delight of a hurler and a gentleman to boot on the few occasions that I met him…
May he rest in peace.
James ‘Jas’ Murphy, Kerry’s oldest All-Ireland winning captain, has died
The light of Heaven to him. His name cropped up here about a week ago in the oldest Celtic cross holder still alive. A great age, God be good to him.
Bob dole would like you to know Bob dole has died.
