Was just watching it. For such a nonsense bit it was hilarious

Their humour was everyday humour. As someone said , I think @TreatyStones , you could pinpoint someone you knew with the accent, mannerisms etc.

Am I right or did they just explode into the national consciousness with D’video in around Xmas 95 maybe? I never heard of either of them before that although I presume they were well enough known. I thought D’video was definitely the best they did. Unbelievably quotable.

The Hairy Bowsies were a rebel band alter ego of The Joshua Trio, of which Fr. Ted co-writer Arthur Matthews was a member.
Ding Dong is Paul Woodfull, one of the Joshua Trio
