jon voight, you mean?
Yeah, didn’t he play jon voight in midnight express?
Mario Zagallo, 92
World Cup winner with Brazil as a player in 1958 and 1962
As a manager in 1970
As an assistant manager in 1994
And got to the final in 1998 as manager
Franz Beckenbauer.
Another major signing for the Dead team in area where they were still a bit light.
He was one of the greatest of all time
A strolling maestro. He could have played with a fag in his mouth and it would have all been the one.
JPR Williams and Franz Beckenbauer in the same day.
RIP
One of those players that when you watch older games just looked so stylish. Classy.
Bobby Charlton was asked to man mark him in the 1966 World Cup final,
Says it all about Beckenbauer
The auld lad saw him play in Dalymount back in the 60s
Who was he playing for?
For Munich against Shamrock Rovers, then of Milltown. The father was in St Pats at the time
Was he drying out?
If he was it didn’t work
Was he the original sweeper?
JPR had an incredible record as a player of playing on 11 Wales teams against England between his debut season in 1969 and his retirement in 1981 and winning all 11. He missed the 1974 and 1980 games against England injured and England won both.
Fortycoats RIP.
Be me fortycoats and fifty pockets, I’d have sworn he was dead years ago.
I think you might be referring to SoFarSoGood actor Conal Kearney?
Theres one for the things I learned today
Conal’s RIP.ie notice reads: “Formerly of Dublin. Grandson of Peadar Kearney, author of Amhrán na bhFiann. Peacefully, at University Hospital Galway, with his loving family by his side, after a bravely fought battle. Will be sadly missed by his sisters Eva and Bríd, brothers Pearse and Peadar, sisters-in-law Eileen and Jean, brother-in-law Martin, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and his circle of special friends.”
