Iād say that could be him out of action for a couple of weeks/months. I would have gone with one up front for Wednesday in any case but that will make Lennonās choice a lot easier, Hooper has been poor today and doesnāt look in great condition. Very happy with Commons, he seems to have worked hard over the summer and looks much more quicker on his feet than he did at any stage last season.

Commons really deserved that, he has been excellent, heās looking as lean physically as Iāve seen him since he joined us and is playing with confidence.
Itās amazing how easy we can get caught out at the back, a simple ball over the top there found Milito but it didnāt have the right pace to allow him bring it clear of the defence. Really naive defending that should be trained out of them.

Disagree regarding Hooper - think his first touch lay-offs in particular have been excellent.
Was going to post something similar on Hooper. Think heās dropped off their centre backs really well and has linked it up nicely with the wingers and Ledley breaking forward from midfield.
Good first half display, midfield have been very impressive, particularly Wanyama and Commons. Stokes was playing extremely well until his injury, very smart runs down the channel, neat and tidy on the ball and a few wonderful first time touches - it looks like he could be out for a while though. Izaguirre and Matthews have been solid at the back and offered good support getting forward. Lustig and Mulgrew have had nothing to do for the most part but in a few instances Inter have got time on the ball they have looked incredibly naive, playing Militio and Coutinho onside and getting caught the wrong side, it looks like one decent pass in midfield can undo us at the back. Overall Iām impressed, would like to see McCourt being deployed in the middle of the pitch in the second half.
We can only really play McCourt in the middle in a 5 man midfield and I think weāre unlikely to leave Bangura on his own up front for any length of time.
We could go to a narrow 3 and play Commons off two of Samaras/Hooper/Bangura.
Iām really enjoying the Italian coverage of this, weāve had The Smiths and Sting to listen to at half time rather than that bollox Gregor.
