Happy to see a 4-3-3

Happy that Mulgrew is seen as a defender

Interesting that Commons was playing in the midfield (even in a friendly)

Looks like we’ll need at least one more winger if we’re losing Samaras and playing Forrest and Boerrigter and Stokes/Griffiths as 2 of our wingers in the 4-3-3.

McGregor took his goal well.

Kayal looked decent, if we are going playing a high tempo, high pressing game then he may very well be suited to the team and able to rediscover his first season form. Anyone a list of the squad that is out in Austria, is Jackson Irvine in the picture?

WILL CELTIC BEAT THE ICELANDIC TEAM?

Didn’t see him on the list.

Leo Fasan, Adam Matthews, Eoghan O’Connell, Calum Waters, Stuart Findlay, Beram Kayal, Callum McGregor, Liam Henderson, Teemu Pukki, Leigh Griffiths and Bahrudin Atajic all came on at half time.

Setanta are televising a few of our games:

Rapid Vienna V Celtic (Sunday 6th July 1700)
Dynamo Dresden v Celtic (Saturday 19th July 1515)
St Pauli v Celtic (Saturday 26th July 1430)

Missed the first half of this Vienna game. We are one down after a Virgil og. Wearing our new tricolour kit.

Brown went off after a minute with a knee injury. Doesn’t sound great just over a week before our first CL game.

People actually watch these pre-season friendlies?

Looks like an all-white kit to me.

Only 30 seconds of injury time despite about 20 subs in the second half. Rotten refereeing.

Pukki managed an equaliser after about 70 minutes to earn a deserved draw.

Boerrigter miss today:

Few more players added to the squad today. Izzy and Forster back from the World Cup and Jackson Irvine and John Herron have joined up too. Not sure if they were injured or just not initially selected but they’re training today.

Currently 4-2 up against Linz. Hat-trick for Pukki and Balde just scored too. Henderson was sent off at 3-2.

BBC are reporting that Scott Brown will be out for 3 months with a significant hamstring injury. Nothing official from the club yet. Do we need to sign a centre midfield player to ensure Champions League group stage progression, chaps?

Not for the upcoming round, but we should probably be looking at getting somone in the next month - big chance for Kayal. Delighted to hear Pukki is in such great form.
