Seems expensive alright. Not sure either are guaranteed successes, but not many players are in the £2-3m bracket.
We’re linked with Mix Diskerud again today. He’s a USA international who is just going out of contract with Rosenberg. Think we were linked with him in the summer too. Seems like he’d be a decent standard and we certainly could do with a couple of international quality midfielders.
Mix Diskerud is apparently in New York to sign for NYCFC.
There doesn’t appear to be much happening transfer wise.
Deila has publicly stated that he doesn’t expect anything to happen until the latter stages of the month. It’s a bit concerning as it hints at a lack of a clear plan - I agree with @starryplough in that we need to be signing players in January to allow them to bed in before crucial CL qualifiers in the middle of summer.
Aside from that, Van Dijk was in the Dutch press angling for a move to a better league but confirming it’s unlikely to happen in January and that he’s okay with that.

We were linked with Eoin Doyle the other day. Deila said earlier that we weren’t particularly interested in strikers so presume nothing is coming of that. He’s scored a few for Chesterfield but looked distinctly average with Hibs.
Disappointed not to be getting Diskerud - thought he’d be a good fit.
Also linked with Ahmad Benali, 22 year old Manchester-born Libyan international who plays as a defensive midfielder for Brescia. He could be available for a free due to Brescia’s financial constraints.
Very lightweight and don’t think he’s all that quick but certainly is a very skillful and clever player and should give is something different and on a free there is certainly no harm in signing him.
Linked with Maloney today on a bosman. I wouldn’t be against this as even though I was happy to see him go when he did I think his game has come on a lot in the past few years. If he signs then I wouldn’t expect either Wakaso or Tonev around next year.
Also linked with Israeli forward Tal Ben Haim. @mickee321
Paul George and Marcus Fraser have been released, unfortunate for their careers as they received serious injuries just as they were getting some first team chances.

Tal Ben Haim II? not that donkey at Charlton i assume, interestingly i see Guy Luzon took over there after fucking up Standard Leige
I dont like the Tal Ben Haim in question, started out with Maccabi Petak Tikva moved Hapoel TA for a year and now at Maccabi Tel Aviv for the last 3, a horrid cheating cunt, always diving, goes down easy, opposition fans hate him, would be suited to the huns really, usually plays RHS of attack or out wide somewhere, like he is fast, gets a few goals but is windy really…
Beram Kayal is reportedly signing for Brighton. He’s travelled down there for a medical. He’s out of contract in the summer.
Some news on Guidetti:
Fuck Guidetti. Let him sit it out if he doesn’t want to sign.
Direct quotes from Deila on Guidetti are fairly telling. His career has been going nowhere. He has talent but fuck trying to rescue his career for him if he wants to move on after a year. He hasn’t been outrageously good, more promising but even that has dipped anyway.
I see Ronny was speaking glowingly of Griffiths today, I have to say Griffiths has started to win me around after being very skeptical of his arrival this time last year. He has his limitations but his attitude seems to be good and he’s a very busy player up front, his goalscoring record would be very good when you equate it into goals per minutes I’d imagine as well.
The biggest plus point with Ronny for me has been the way he has handled the squad this season, compared to that cunt Lennon who would consistently fuck the team about so he could fit in his favourites like Commons and Hooper irrespective of their form, the form of the other players or the team balance, Ronny has brought a sense of meritocracy to Celtic this year. Whoever gets the jersey looks to have deserved it with their attitude and form, do you think Lennon would have had the balls to drop Guidetti? I don’t.
I hope Ronny remains at Celtic Park for a long time to come. Back to the transfer activity, do we think Armstrong will arrive before the window closes? With Kayal going I would be hopeful we might bring in another midfielder. I was hoping for some defensive reinforcements but it doesn’t look like anything will happen there before the close of the month unfortunately.
