Celtic January Transfer Window 2021

The club, under Lennon and lawell, are a shambles.

A Director of Football is an obvious need for Celtic and has been for a long time. I think Deila was originally identified as a possibility for that type of job but then things moved on. But you can’t just have an accountant as CEO and then a first team manager and expect youth development to flourish.

Bring him home

800k for El Hamed

Don’t worry I’m sure Dudu Dahan will have another flop up his sleeve soon

This looks to be agreed now. £300k. Seems highly rated.

Probably another Luca Connell.

If lawell is leaving who is making the decision to buy this guy?

They should get onto Liverpool about that Elliot lad at Blackburn for a loan or I can see Gerrard trying.

Queen’s Park is delighted to announce agreement has been reached with Celtic to bring Luca Connell and Ryan Mullen to Hampden on loan for the rest of the season.

Highly rated 19-year-old midfielder Connell started his professional career with Bolton Wanderers before joining Celtic in July 2019.

Ryan, also 19, is a goalkeeper who has come through the ranks at Celtic Park and has recently been on loan at Cove Rangers.

Head Coach Ray McKinnon said “I am absolutely delighted to get both deals over the line and get the players in for what is going to be a very busy period ahead.

“We have needed cover in the goalkeeping position and have been actively looking for some time so it’s very pleasing to have the opportunity to bring Ryan in. Luca is a very talented player who is left sided which will give us good balance in the squad and added competition for places.

“The acquisition of both players really does strengthen the squad for the run in.”

The club would like to thank Celtic for their assistance with these loan arrangements.

Welcome to Queen’s Park Luca and Ryan!

Do they still play at Hampden ???

There are those who know

And those who don’t

The only thing the above shows is how hopeless a manager Lennon was/is. Happy to pick non performing players on a weekly basis without ever giving others a crack.

Lee O’Connor

Celtic fans turning on eachother the morn of a cup final …Wrong on so many levels …

I think you’ll find it’s just one gentleman who has woken a little angry today. It’s not like him though. I’ll reach out to him privately.

Nope it’s the same lad who defends incompetence at every level but is too arrogant to admit he has been consistently wrong.

The abuse he dished out to young Ralston was disgraceful. Young Mikey is now the latest target for the idiot boo boys when he’s not really had a proper chance.

The same chaps will then defend the chaps who underperform week in week out.

Opinions be fluid

Oh dear

That’s a guy who wanted Ralston to get an opportunity.

The other guy is the one who ridiculed his ability.

If that’s your best attempt you’ve landed dreadfully short. I don’t claim players to be world beaters but I do think players deserve an opportunity when the guys ahead of them getting picked week in, week out have been utterly honking. I do think players deserve an opportunity to state their claim.

I’ve lobbied for various players down through the years to get their chance. Soro, Rogic, Bayo, Shved, Hendry, Ralston etc. Give them the chance and see fi they are good enough rather than lazily writing them off to defend an incompetent manager’s selection decisions. Some will prove they are, others won’t. Rocko liked to consistently defend Lennon’s selection decisions and now doesn’t want to address this. I’ll just remind him anyway.

The point seems to have gone right over your head but having to be educated at Templemore is not a great indication of intelligence being present.

Lobbied :joy:

I struggle with a club like Celtic bringing in any player as an adult (ie not in the youth system), and not giving them a chance at any point.
If the scouting system is adequate (which it most certainly should be), then players should all get an opportunity as injuries and fatigue arise, as well as games put to bed with half an hour left.

It was a hallmark of the Lennon era really.

Tbf to Rodgers, he gave chances to guys, the likes of Kouassi, Hendry etc got decent chances when they were fit.

I’m trying to think back here but in 7/8 years of managing Celtic I think Lennon gave opportunities to 2 youth players - Forrest and Welsh. Lennon picked his favourites, the old boys club, form didn’t matter, fitness levels didn’t matter. The same players played week in week irrespective of anything other than the manager liking them.

Now a certain poster even would get very defensive when it was suggested that Lennon picked his favourites and other players were surely deserving of a run in the team given the poor form of those holding down the places.
