Trusty cost £5m. That’s less than half of say Omobamidele‘s fee the summer before. He might be a slight exception but £5m isn’t a big transfer fee. Celtic paid more for Berkovic 25 years ago. And Trusty has been far more successful.
Engels is a bigger fee alright but that’s the price for a fairly generic athlete these days.

That’s not abundantly clear. Seems to be a mixture of Head of Fooball Operations (Paul Tisdale) and the manager with the manager having sign off.
It was never Rodgers’ biggest strength. I fear the transfer successes of the Ange years were a blip but let’s see what happens.
