Celtic Non-Matchday Discussion

Could be a 17 or 18 in a row if Glasgow Celtic win it this season?

Looked v shaky v the Huns last time out

Not much happening on the signings front after the early striker signing and couple of loans.

Scott McTominay the latest midfielder to be linked when I’d prefer a right back to be signed as first priority.

It’ll probably go down to the last day again and the support will be seething if there are no defensive reinforcements, especially with Lustig playing like a cripple, Boyata winding down his contract and Tierney potentially out long term.

St Johnstone at home in the next round of the cup.

Easssssssy at least that’s what I would have thought up to the rangers farce, sorry match

What do we know about Dominic Iorfa? Linked with a pre-contract today.

Journeyman? Name seems familiar from Championship in England.

His son.

He is shit.

Linked with Josh Maja on a pre contract and some right back from Porto B.

Maryan Shved, 21 yo Ukrainian left footed right winger is said to be close to signing for Celtic according to reports in Ukraine.

My research tells me he’s a left footed right winger who cuts in and unleashes shots on goal. There’s some debate as to whether the Scottish tabloids have picked up the story from some made up twitter rumors…but he needs to be signed.

Rodgers confirmed in pre match interviews that the club is talking to him.

He’s the type of player we should be going for. We seemed to pull back from these deals after signing a few duds like Balde, Pukki, Scepovic but they are better than loans.

I have a good feeling about Bayo too.

Agreed. He reminds me of that young Serbian chap we were linked with last summer and the summer before. But I’d much rather Bayo and Shved than the likes of a Defoe or a washed up pro from England.

Also guys, we badly need to start shifting some players out.

Hendry and Morgan will probably head out on loan which I think is the best thing for them right now.

I can’t understand why we don’t just hand Scott Allan over to Hibs now, clearly he has no role to play at Celtic so what’s the point keeping him on the wage bill right now. Is it just sour grapes because Hibs wouldn’t allow us lowball them for McGinn?

Mulumbu, Hayes and Comper are a few other players who should be moved on.

I think Ralston should be our first choice right back until the end of the season if we don’t get anyone in. Was he injured tonight?

Yeah I assume the McGinn thing hasn’t helped on Scott Allan. Also it’s up to them to make an offer for him. I doubt they’ll pick up all his wages.

I imagine Mulumbu, Morgan and Hendry will all go out on loan. Mulumbu probably not returning.

Ralston got injured at the weekend. I’d imagine he would have kept his place but Lustig might retain it now having got back in to the team.

Odd comment from Rodgers after the game. Said the club was talking to him but he’d be one for the future because “we have about a million wingers already.” Which is true. But a strange thing to say.

It’s the type of thing that adds fuel to the rumours about there being internal ructions last summer. It’s like something he’d say if he was pissed off about transfer activity and wanted to get the point across that Lawwell is foisting some players on him and not making moves for others he wants.

Yeah it’s similar to the Arzani comments. But I guess maybe he’s more referring to him being more important in the summer if Weah and Burke are gone at that stage.

Well we do but presumably we will move on Morgan and Hayes for now.

If he comes in he will probably have Forrest, Sinclair, Johnston, Edouard, Weah, Burke and Bayo ahead of him and we generally only play 3 of those so it would mean he probably won’t make an instant impact.

I think it’s good though, gives him time to bed in and we will probably lose Weah and Burke next season.
