Celtic Non-Matchday Discussion

McGregor also out tomorrow.

I have this in the Europa League thread.

I think we need Montgomery to cover the wings with Forrest, Abada and Kyogo all out so I expect it will be Juranovic on the left.

Apparently Jack Hendry had a huge game against PSG last night.

cc @Rocko

Huge game against Livingston this weekend on their shitty plastic pitch.

It’s a difficult place to visit, we’ve s lot of injuries and were in European action during the week so it’s just imperative we get the points. We’ve lost our two away league games despite being the best team so very important we get a clean sheet.

Abada should be back and hopefully McGregor too.

I was thinking last night that Ange couldn’t be managing versus two more diverse characters on Thursday and Sunday :sweat_smile:

Hopefully the shitty pitch doesn’t impact our play too much. But I think if our movement is good and our passing is quick it might even help us. It’s when you build up slower that the astro really seems to get in the way.

This is a very important game alright.

I thought this was an interesting and enjoyable yarn… I hadn’t thought about ‘48 hours’ in the context discussed…

Luca Connell drops down to the third tier of Scottish football in a loan spell.

He must not be very good

There were 6 Celtic youth players sitting across from me in a cafe yesterday, they were between 16-19 I reckon. Two things that stood out were how small they were and that they were driving very decent cars. How much would lads like that be getting each week you reckon?

I’m suppose it depends if they are on pro terms.

Prob 50-80k if they have signed professional terms now.

Bumped for @Rocko.

Looks like more of the same.

COVID induced losses maintained at an acceptable level due to fans’ financial backing (virtual season tickets, buying new Adidas merchandise).

No real debt but player sales making up for depletion of cash (COVID).

Board creaming themselves over their sustainable operating model etc etc.

Board continue to underinvest, lads patting the board on the back for an operational highlight on being SPL runners up.

Our wage bill must be too high.

We got 26m from player sales and spent 14m on replacing them.

But that 12m profit was wiped out by the 14m loss we incurred on day to day stuff (tickets and merchandise income against wages and other costs).

Covid won’t have helped there but we had some extra income from merchandising (probably Adidas related) of 7m so our actual revenue only fell by 10m.

We lost 10m (before player sales) the year before too so seems like our wage bill is just too high.

That’s the problem when you rely on loaning EPL cast offs.
