There may be something private going or or else he ‘personally’ felt his ideas for the future development of the club were being stymied by some individual or indeed individuals within the club. I can’t see the resurrection of Strachan into any sort of role in a supposedly forward looking organisation being received well by a progressive CEO…

There was speculation this morning that the Board and senior management weren’t happy with him. Big promises and no delivery. That speculation said that Nicholson would be taking over so it seems potentially accurate.

It’s a tricky one for me to navigate. McKay’s rubby background makes it impossible for me to have any sympathy for him but I’m not taking the board’s side either. Could it be that they were both inept? The board for hiring him on the back of a botched due diligence process and McKay showing himself to be completely out of his depth in an actual sport with real pressure and consequences.

Yeah I reckon something like that is probably true. Best case scenario is Ange has told the Board that Dom wasn’t up to it and he has a young CEO in Japan lined up to bring over in January. Kaizen will deliver us the league title.
