Celtic Non-Matchday Discussion

Kyogo has been a squad regular for years, if not a starter, so the poor chap will probably be gutted. Hatate has never featured much for Japan so his omission isn’t a surprise, I guess. Maeda is the least talented of the three imo, but he must fulfil some function the manager values. Sticking to the Japanese theme, I wouldn’t be surprised if Ideguchi was sold soon. Things just haven’t worked out at Celtic for him. Often injured when it looks like a chance for some game time might be opening up for him.

@starryplough how serious is CCV’s injury? Slight enough & not being risked because we’re already out, moderately serious or a grave blow?

Its sounds hush hush, other than blaming the Livi pitch. I’d like to hope its just a precaution for him before the WC. He’s having a bad run of it this season

Lads is that Kerrydale bar worth a visit pre-match on Saturdays? Trying to gauge the best spot for a stag group to meetup before Ross County on Saturday and wondering are we better off just going Brazenhead for the cure.

Mooy in the Aussie squad.

Rogic missed out…

It’s all very harmless and sanitised but you might appreciate toilets that are somewhat cleaner than your typical east end pub. It’s just like a function room with bar and stage. They’ll have whatever early match is being televised on the screens and they’ll have the in house singer doing tame Irish and Celtic songs (no politically incorrect add ons). Then they’ll have Tom Boyd or Tosh McKinlay or someone come onstage around 2.40pm to give a short match preview and prediction. There’s also usually a carvery option so you might get some haggis or lorne sausage to settle the stomach. Go to Brazenhead if you want a grittier matchday experience.

Thanks for this. Toilet stalls might be a vital addition for those not able to handle the cure.

The Kerrydale that we’ve been in is no more. That’s all reserved for padded seats people now.

There is a new “sports bar” open the last couple of weeks. Seems a bit more like a bar and less like a function room. But it’s small and fills up very quickly.

There are a few newish Celtic pubs in the Merchant City end of the city that are a decent bet these days. A step up from the likes of the Brazen Head.

Connolly’s, Grace’s and Murphy’s all beside each other. I like the dungeon feel of Murphy’s.

Cheers gents. All very sensible suggestions. One of ours dead set on hearing Auf Wiedershen Crossmaglen in that Brazenhead anyways so we’ll make any appearance the Saturday post match but greatly appreciate the suggestions to fill out the weekend.

Ah god no. I’ll never get to hear Liam McGrandles hit the high notes ever again.

Be aware that a lot of pubs in Glasgow operate a “no football kit/colours” policy if you want to go somewhere other than a Celtic bar. We used wear a t-shirt under the jersey, and stick the jersey and scarf deep in the pocket before and after match.
It’s a great town, but as always, be careful if you’re moving away from the mainstream supporters.

Yep the plan is to only take the jacket off in Celtic pubs or around Parkhead on the Saturday. I wouldn’t even wear blue or green around the city centre tbh.

You’d be grand in the colour, but I’d avoid green an white stripes alright :slightly_smiling_face:
It’s an absolutely brilliant city.

Ah it’s class. None of the Embra notions. We’d have a few watery North Galway cunts coming so you try your best to avoid stabbings on the stag.
