In what other industry would an organisation be ran so badly and finances/ performances plummet due to gross negligence and there is next to no change at board level? Its bordering on criminal at this stage
You see I guess they are running it as business. The board are still getting very wealthy and the club is turning over profits.
No other football club is ran like this. Most of them are loss making and propped up by wealthy investors who want success, not money. Celtic are propped by the most thoroughbred capitalists of the lot.
Lawwell was the worst thing to happen Celtic in 20 years, sadly some fans were duped by him and still defended āPistol Peteā until he went out the door.
Ange is a good appointment for us as he will rail against the board and will have the fans on his side.
Now we have three shit keepers and a goalkeeping problem that wonāt be fixed.
Itās clear as day the board are not going to invest anything in the squad. A problem position? And they decide to sort it out by getting some past it never was on a freebie.
If he can be rejuvenated in the same way as Gordon and Forster were then it might be an option worth taking. Itās the one position we did invest in last summer but we got it horribly wrong.
I donāt think net spend is important. Itās a misleading number with Edouardās sell on fee and with the January money not included in this money.
I do think we need to buy a right back. I think we need to buy another midfielder at least. I think we need to buy a striker or someone who can play across a front three like Furuhashi. So I think we need to invest something close to the 20m.
I think we also need a goalkeeper, a left back and a centre back. If theyāre loans or small transfers then Iām not as concerned.
We also need rid of Ntcham, Griffiths, Bolingoli and Barkas and anyone else on a decent wage who couldnāt even make yesterdayās under resourced team. And Iād be taking whatever we can get for Edouard.
I think selling your best players pretty much every season, making successive profits, sitting on big cash reserves and reducing investment in the squad is outright scandalous. Would you not agree?
What other club would have had their CEO as the highest earner over the past number of years.
Celtic is not being ran like a normal football club.
No he hasnāt. Other than a couple of tiny things. But I think thatās fairly common. I think the quality of our spending has been almost as bad as the lack of investment. Our wage bill is always high and we have a small handful of players who could move on from Celtic and do better for themselves (e.g. McGregor). The likes of Griffiths and Ajeti and Ntcham must be laughing at all the money theyāve taken out of Celtic in recent years.
Yeah agreed where itās sustained. But in any single window itās meaningless. Our big cash reserves will have been eaten away by Covid though. We donāt have a huge surplus of cash - but can still fund transfers anyway thanks to Ajer and Frimpong.
How can you seriously sit there defending Desmond AGAIN.
You do realise this mess is all on him and his fat cronies?
You were the slow learner on here who defended Lennon and Lawwell to the hilt, to the bitter end. Every season you are on here defending the biscuit tin mentality.
As you are so reticent to answer Iāll ask again.
Oh. Is that right? Weāre the only club impacted by Covid. We have no debt, a billionaire owner and consistently penny pinch, pre-Covid and post-Covid.
