Celtic Transfer Window Summer 2021

This sounds fairly promising

Do we know if Christie is injured or being held back so as not to jeopardise getting a token transfer fee?

His career trajectory is strange. His record before last season was the calibre of player Dundee Utd might take a punt on then he shots the lights out in the Eredivisie last year and did it with a team who were relegated.

Looks decent in his highlights video. Certainly worth a punt at ā‚¬2.5m but I donā€™t know if Iā€™d trust him to replace Edouard. Henry looked like a fare more reliable replacement for Edouard.

An apparent scout called Marc Lamberts has a scouting report done on him. Link is on his Lambertsā€™ Twitter profile. I didnā€™t watch the 8-9 minute clip of his goals last season but I read the report and viewed the various other clips of his pieces of play.

My conclusion: ONE SEASON WONDER

A touch of the Scepovics or someone about him. Doesnā€™t seem to be blisteringly fast, nor very powerful or strong in the air. I think heā€™ll flatter to deceive.

Yeah. Henry looks far more the proven quantity.

Now Ange could work wonders on him and Iā€™m not adverse to him coming but not as an Edouard replacment, maybe as a Griffiths one.

Juranovic will be decent back up for Ralston.

So is it fair to say Juranovic and Scales are looking like only a matter of time?

It seems an out an out left back (Scales can cover) will only be brought in if Bolingoli is got rid/ loaned. I see a loan coming in at the last minute if so here for a replacement.

Lovric dead in the water?

Need 2 strikers (assuming Eddie is going this window)

Iā€™d say one striker & one winger is better than two strikers.

Kyogo has shown heā€™s very comfortable through the middle.

Isnā€™t Henry fairly similar? He did it at second division level in Belgium for one season and then in their top flight which is a level below the Eredivisie. But he was very average until he was 25.

Not saying Henry doesnā€™t look like he might be decent. But theyā€™re both a little unproven beyond last season

McClean on the way to Wigan. Pick up the bleeding phone Celticā€¦

Henry has done it in back to back seasons though and seems to have started off in a similar vein this season. Thereā€™s a bigger body of work there, think he looks a lot classier a player too.

And wish him all the best at Wiganā€¦

Iā€™m actually going to go with a no on the Greek lad.

Lots of penalties and shite goals, the type of ones the keeper should save or he crosses the ball and it goes in or he buries a shot from 10 yards out off the arse of a defender and it goes in. Think as @Bandage said heā€™s a one season wonder.

Itakura off to Schalke on loan with a ā‚¬4m buy option.

Operation Biscuit Tin Mentality is absolutely thriving.

I think itā€™s pretty bad that we may now have passed up or potentially passed up on:

Itakura Ā£3.5m
Henry Ā£4.5m
Lovric Ā£3.5m

Thatā€™s a very modest investment at the end of the day.

I have many doubts about our interest in all of those, particularly Itakura and Lovric.

Itā€™s very frustrating that weā€™re not investing but this transfer window has been dominated by far more random speculation by lads in their bedrooms xhsbxint their arm on Twitter.

We could do with players of the calibre and position of those above but itā€™s hard to know if any of them are actually good or if Celtic have even been interested.

Best way to end this is just to sign players though. Scales and the Croatian right back seem likely enough but we need more attacking talent.

Celtic board banking on Rangers having to sell some stars therefore a weaker squad so Celtic donā€™t need to spend as much ?

SSN reporting that Celtic have agreed a fee of Ā£2.5mn with Legia Warsaw for Juranovic. I donā€™t trust the SSN chaps tbh - they seem to take punts based on tweets from local sources so letā€™s see.
