The two lads linked there seem of a decent pedigree. Well have to move some bodies on shortly with size of the squad. Would expect the likes of Boerrigter, Baldé, Irvine, McGeouch and possibly Pukki moved on. Would also like another left back and central midfielder in addition to the two linked but wouldn’t be particularly confident of anything else bar the positions targeted in that interview.
the thought of izaguirre playing another champions league season fills me with dread
A champions league qualifying game more like!
Lindegaard?
Daily Express reporting that Scepovic will sign for us shortly, they’re probably jumping the gun a bit but they are saying we have agreed a £2.4m fee. I like the look of him from what I’ve seen, he seems like a real penalty box striker with a bit of mobility and decent in the air - something different to our other striking options.
I’ve given up on celtic
Scepovic’s agent is in Glasgow for discussions with Celtic about his transfer.
Wakaso is apparently in Paris trying to secure a permit or passport or something that would allow him to play for Celtic without requiring special dispensation. He hasn’t met the criteria of playing the majority of his country’s international games in recent years.
Linked with 21-year old Danish left back Jonas Knudsen this morning. He’s just broken into the Danish senior squad and plays for his hometown team Esbjerg in the Danish Superliga. We definitely need competition for Izaguirre, or perhaps even a replacement.
Bit of speculation that Scepovic will be signing tomorrow. I think he looks decent - good scoring record and from the compilation videos he looks to have decent instincts and looks reasonably fast, strong and tall.
I’m emotionally committing to Scepovic now. I’ve gone ahead and watched an older video and remain impressed and enthused:
Ronny, speaking in the pre-Maribor second leg press conference earlier, said that we’re hopeful of signing a couple of players before the deadline but nothing is ready yet.
How do we think this one will pan out?
I think we’ll definitely get Wakaso and Scepovic in.
I would be hoping to also get:
[]a starting centre back
[]a young promising left back who can compete with Izzy immeadiately

a central midfielder who can push Johansen for a starting place
I would probably expect us to get Wakaso, Scepovic, a defender and possibly a back up keeper.
I see Boerriget, Balde, Pukki all leave and maybe the likes of O’Connell, McGeouch, Twardzik and Henderson going out on loan judging by The Rocket’s comments.
I think we might need O’Connell if we don’t get a centre back in.
I think Wakaso will sign tomorrow. Not 100% confident on Scepovic but hopefully that’s finalized quickly. After that I’m not sure we’ve anything more than a few aspirations. Would like at least one of those defenders and a centre midfielder. I was impressed with Henderson at the weekend though and we already have:
Johansen
Mulgrew
Kayal
Bitton
as well as Brown to come back and Henderson to contribute there too. I don’t think Kayal will be consistent enough and Mulgrew has plenty of issues while Bitton and Henderson have much left to prove so I’d like someone of real quality to come in, but we don’t need another project.
I think Boerrigter, Pukki and Baldé will all leave alright. Tonev and Wakaso will replace the wingers in the squad, plus McGregor and Berget have already been contributors to make up for Samaras leaving. At least one striker is an absolute necessity though.
Wouldn’t be astonished to see Commons leave either based on him looking for a final payday and he may figure he won’t be an automatic starter this season. That will depend on getting a good offer for him. For Boerrigter and Pukki it won’t take much of an offer to move them on. Baldé will be let go if anyone will take on his contract I imagine.
Baldé reported to be returning to Vitoria Guimares on loan.
Linked with Polish striker Lukasz Teodorczyk tonight:

Was thought to have signed for Dinamo Kiev but apparently Celtic have come in with a late bid. @balbec, what are you hearing on the ground?

Some say he should go to Kiev because the Scottish league is hopeless. Others say he would fit in well with a cheating non fair play club like Celtic because he is a master of diving. Others that he should go to Scotland to increase his chances of a move to an English club.
Scepovic to have a medical tomorrow. €2.5m fee.
Gordon out for tonight:mad:
Not sure if the delay in these deals is because the players, Celtic or each party want to see if we’ll have qualified for the group stages. Or if it’s nothing to do with it and deals are progressing at their own pace.
So Wakaso has signed and BBC reporting that Scepovic has agreed a 4 year deal and will sign after passing a medical tomorrow. They’re both needed but we could do with a few more too, though that seems highly unlikely with Ronny specifically mentioning we hoped to sign 2 players. One of whom is another loanee of course.
