Celtic Transfers - Summer 2016 Window ☘ 💷

Linked with a move for Dorus De Vries.

He is a diddy.

Having a medical apparently.

FFS sake.

Torino are linked with Simunovic and a €6m bid has been mooted. Might be best selling him and recouping the fee paid given his persistent injury issues.

De Vries had joined anyway. Interesting to see whether he’ll be competing for the starting position but it’s unlikely he’d have moved if he wasn’t at least in the mix. I know nothing about him really though he seems to be player of the year at Forest 2 years running.

I remember him at Dunfermline a few years back.

He was awful.

You’re an astute judge of talent so I don’t doubt you and can only hope he’s improved beyond recognition.

I saw Rodgers praising De Vries distribuion of the ball and strongly hinted he will be our no.1. I don’t know what kind of football Brendan expects to be playing in February and March on Scottish pitches.

Gordon isn’t too good with his feet and probably hasn’t done himself any favours with his displays against Astana in terms of general goalkeeping either - not too commanding and uncertain with crosses. I take your point about pitch quality but Rodgers seems intent on having a keeper who’s comfortable with the ball and can spray it around.

Christ but Rodgers does talk some amount of nonsense.

Three of Rodger’s sigings have been players he has previously managed - Toure, Sinclair, De Vries.

Jozo Simunovic has taken to Twitter to dispel rumours that he’s leaving Celtic. He says he’s eager to get back to fitness and contribute. Separately Torino were meant to have ended their interest in signing him as he’s not match fit and they wanted somebody who could slot straight in.

Scott Brown announced his retirement from international football earlier.

Good stuff on both counts. Good to see Brown back to form, hope he stamps on that wanker Barton next month.

Simunovic is a player I have high hopes for if he gets over his injury problems.

Missed the game on Wednesday, how did O’Connell play? I haven’t seen much of him this season but from what I had seen previously I wouldn’t have felt he was up to it.

I shared your opinion on O’Connell based on previous seasons but he’s definitely improving. Whether he’s the permanent solution remains to be seen. He was pretty good again the other night. His range of passing from the back is quite impressive and he tidied up well on a few occasions. He might have done better for their first goal but it’d be harsh to pin the blame on him. They broke from a Celtic corner and we never got back into our proper defensive shape. He ended up tracking the scorer from our left back position on a diagonal run into the box. Yer man stood him up, made a few yards further to his left and pulled the trigger left-footed. O’Connell would probably be disappointed not to get a block in but Gordon should have done better at the near post.

See Scott Brown has retired from international football

A massive blow to the global game .

On this form O’Connell will surely make the Irish squad for the Georgian game.

Are you joking . He is playing in a pub league and did OK versus the champs of Israel and Kazakstan . Even Shane Duffy is a better bet .

O’Connell has been playing against internationally capped footballers you imbecile.

The lad is improving every game, if Paul McShane can get into that squad O’Connell definitely will.

Yes, best footballer ever to come from Cark
