We should be scouring all markets in Europe now and looking to have 4 or 5 players worthy of a starting place ready to rock in January. The funds are there to allow for this.
We know itâs not going to happen though.
Did Forrest sing a new deal yet?
We know the huns are badly managed but you have to at least admire there is some ambition there, theyâre apparently giving Morelos a ÂŁ30k a week deal to keep him when he still has 3 years to run on his deal.
Youâd have to wonder why Celtic didnât have the foresight to do similar with Dembele after his first season.
The Celtic board will take every single penny pinching measure they can despite the disastrous consequences of such a strategy. Cunts to a man and none moreso than that slimey prick Peter Lawwell.
Dembele was always going to leave irrespective of money and Celtic canât offer him the wages he can get elsewhere. Itâs no harm that he left. Itâs the lack of a replacement thatâs a problem. Heâs a vastly superior player to Morelos. Theyâre not even remotely comparable.
My point is that Morelos is also sought after, the huns are offering him money to get him to stay, it means the departure will be on their terms. Itâs not really a case that getting him to sign that contract will keep him at the club for x amount of time but when a player is tied to a longer contract it allows the club to dictate the terms of their departure. In todayâs market Celtic could easily have got ÂŁ30m for Dembele and they have had it arranged after such a time that it was good for both parties.
Celtic having guys throwing strops like Boyata and Dembele with their contract situations weakens the clubâs hand immeasurably. Celtic allowed the situation to develop.
In any case I suppose it doesnât bother how much they get as they wonât reinvest any of it into the playing squad, the shareholders have to be taken care of first.
I donât think it mattered how much he was being paid. He wanted to leave and agitated to get his move. Itâs not very surprising. Shit timing but I donât know what difference it would have made if heâd left earlier because we didnât seem to have any scouting done on anyone anyway.
