Celtic v Aberdeen

A chance to win the league today and get that 5 in a row.

Plenty of talk that Aberdeen need to win by 18 today. But 16 or 17 would be ample for them considering they need to win twice more when Celtic lose.

McGinn just missed a sitter there. Jonny Hayes surely playing himself into the Euros squad with a dribble and delivery like that.

Ireland really need to start Hayes against Lustig in June.

Lovely composed finish.

Efe for Mulgrew. Charlie played well in that first half but he’d fuck all to do defensively in truth. Helps us with our attacks though, Sviatchenko and Ambrose aren’t really going to build from the back.

Lovely play from McGregor. Shinnie is having a bit of a nightmare.

3-1. McGinn scores. We’ve been wide open at the back in the second half. Tierney not having a great day.

The absolute state of the refereeing again.

3-2. Ridiculous refereeing decision to give the free but brutal marking. Ambrose headed one away a few minutes ago and got lots of praise but he’d completely post his man. He’s always sucked under the ball.

Do Celtic practice defending set pieces?

A yellow card too. Just went with a wild guess I’d say.

He gives freekicks for Celtic players winning the ball and slightly catching opponents with their follow through but doesn’t give freekicks when Celtic players pass the ball and are cleaned out late by the opposition.

I know it’s tricky enough playing beside Ambrose but Sviatchenko hardly inspires confidence either. He seems to have been praised a fair bit in the Scottish media since joining (possibly because he comes across as a jovial and friendly chap and happy to do interviews etc) but he looks a pretty average defender to me.
