Celtic v Dundee United

Second semi final today. Brown and Lassad will be missing for Celtic, Forrest is highly unlikely to be available and Commons is doubtful. Wanyama is of course available after his ridiculous red card was rescinded.

Johnny Russell is missing for them so that should extend Celtic’s superiority. Awful recent record at Hampden but this is the biggest domestic fixture of the season so far for Celtic and focus shouldn’t be a problem.

Forrest and Commons have been passed fit to start. Surprised that one of Samaras or Stokes isn’t starting. Not entirely sure of the formation - it could be a 4-3-3 with Mulgrew playing more centrally either.

Forster,
Lustig, Ambrose, Wilson, Izaguirre,
Forrest, Wanyama, Ledley, Mulgrew,
Commons,
Hooper.

Subs: Zaluska, Samaras, Stokes, Kayal, Watt.

Oh dear; Hooper starts. No McCourt or Watt in the squad. Lennon needs to get his jotters.

Watt’s on the bench. I only typed the first 4 of the 5 subs in my original post.

That’s shocking Bandage, anyone would think you left him out to provoke a reaction like mine above. Apologise this instant.

Kelvin Wilson is captaining the side today. He must be the 6th or 7th different captain this season and I don’t agree with passing the armband around like this. We need to play with a fast tempo and take the game to them - 3 losses in a row at Hampden.

Some goal by Commons. Fantastic strike.

Tremendous bravery from Efie Ambrose. He never flinched.

Extraordinary miss by Lustig, heading off the post from 4 yards out with the entire goal to aim for. Great play by Celtic there.

They’re playing quite well too - lively start to the game.

Poor from Wilson and Celtic were always on the back foot after that.

1-1. Very easily beaten on the counter attack. Kelvin Wilson with the initial mistake but well taken. Mackay-Steven is an excellent young player. Possible foul on Joe Ledley down at their box which allowed them to start the break though.

That looked a penalty for Dundee United both live and on replay.

Andy Walker is infuriating. That wasn’t even a possibility of being a penalty. Mackay-Steven abruptly stopped and went to ground before Wanyama arrived. He was obviously hoping it would look like Wanyama ran through him and fouled him.

Come off it. Izaguirre just did the same thing outside the box and it was a clear free.

And they’ve scored again from the resulting free kick.

2-1 down now.

Wanyama!

2-2. Wanyama. Another great Izaguirre cross.

the sieve isnt covering itself in glory

We’re all over the place defensively with this 4-3-3. Not sure who’s meant to be holding in midfield - they’re having loads of space in front of the back four.
