O’Dea took the opportunity to take Rogic out. One of those “excessive force” tackles where he gets the ball with one foot but takes the opportunity to go through him and trap his ankle. Rogic had to go off and that could be ankle ligaments. Griffiths curled with resulting freekick past Bain from 30 yards - excellent strike.

Missed the first half but we’ve been impressive for the 10 minutes I’ve seen. Good tempo and working the ball around well. That was a very nicely taken goal by Bitton with a sidefoot pass finish from the edge of the box.

2-1. Shitty goal. Sloppy defending. Gamboa slipped and it deflected off Simunovic and beyond Gordon.
Huge chance for an equaliser there.
FT 2-1. Really comfortable for most of that but a couple of close calls near the end. Missed Brown’s screening for the last piece - we were too open.
I thought Bitton was poor after his goal. He allowed players glide past him and gave it away in our own half terribly at one stage. Christie annoyed me by playing with a misplaced arrogance - slowing it down needlessly, rolling his studs over the ball and then giving it away. He’d a few good moments but he lost it cheaply to allow them to counter for the big chance which was blazed over near the end. Sinclair looked lively when he came on and he links up very well with Dembélé. The latter seems to have lost a bit of confidence - he had a few efforts but didn’t catch them cleanly. I hope the injury to Rogic isn’t serious but at least we have Sinclair back even though he isn’t a like for like swap. I wouldn’t want to be relying on GMS (ineffective before he was taken off) or Christie at the more difficult away venues.
