It may have been the accounts of the year before which would exclude the Fekir wages. So who are Celtic’s peers in your opinion, considering you don’t seem to consider teams that beat them as peers?
I’m just making observations on things.
Celtic’s wage bill is not distinguished between playing and non-playing staff.
The highest earner at Celtic is supposedly McGregor at £30k a week, which is roughly £1.5m a year.
If you look at this then Villarreal have 12 players earning more than that a week, alone.
There are plenty of other employees at a club, directors, executive staff, coaching staff, scouts, medical staff, sports science, media workers, etc etc. There are match day stewards, club shop operatives, ticket shop workers and so on and so forth.
One director took home a salary of £5m alone in Celtic’s last set of accounts.
So I wouldn’t say you are looking at like for like figures there at all.
Will Edouard be offski ??
I’m getting my figures from the Swiss Ramble who are usually fairly on the ball with these things. They are however for 2018/19 rather than last year.
You’ve posted up revenue figures there.
Apologies
But that figure for Celtic is the entire wage bill of the club, it doesn’t distinguish between directors, executives, management and playing staff and other ancillary staff.
Here’s an estimate of the playing staff from last season.
4 of those top 5 earners are loanees from English clubs, 3 of them have now left Celtic and it includes all youth players too.
Looks like the two lads are set to go deep into the night on this one. I look forward to 40 posts of accounts, spreadsheets and wages bills in the morning
And it still won’t matter a fuck in the morning
Cover? I’ll get my coat…
Still no sign of Lennon being sacked after than humiliation last night?
The likes of El Hamed should be turfed out for that second goal, basic stuff. Clearly Frimpong should have been playing anyway to cover their strikers pace. Julien has also looked pretty dire so far this season for whatever reason.
Starting up top with no recognised striker and six midfielders at home in a must win game is pretty unforgivable though
He’s completely out of his depth. How manager that failed at both Hibs and Bolton comes in and gets the Celtic job would be baffling only for we know Lawwell wants a yes man who is not going to call out the board on their lack on investment.
Chief Executives don’t like sacking Yes men
If you hire a third division standard manager you get third division results.
He has an inside link to Barca now though cos Henrik is on the staff.
If Lennon was sacked today would he get a championship job?
Kieran McGeeney is going nowhere
Big Jim McGuinness is the man for the job
