Celtic v Hearts ☘

Interesting that Nawrocki keeps his place. He was our best defender in the last game but we really struggled with bringing the ball out. I’d like to see much more from CCV in this respect. He’s the player who always gets to play on his preferred side so he needs to be able to move the ball much quicker. He seems to avoid criticism on his conservative passing (until recently) because he’s the best defender. But his defending hasn’t been as good this season and his passing is still sluggish.

Otherwise the team is fairly predictable. I think Kuhn is lucky to get the start - his form has been poor and he’s not working hard enough. Would like to see a strong showing from Idah off the bench after looking good for Ireland in the last game.

A brilliant goal, playing out from our own left back position. Excellent by Schlupp & McGregor & a lovely finish by Daizen.

Not sure what that whiny fucker Craig Gordon is appealing for.

This is one ridiculous refereeing performance.

Another quality goal. Great pass by Nawrocki to BREAK THE LINES & superb by Engels, Hatate & Kuhn before the tap in finish. Pity we’ve shat ourselves against the hun press lately but this is what I expect Celtic to do when teams try to be aggressive at Celtic Park.

We’ve had games where we’ve had much more control. And our passing out from the back has been mixed. But definitely more ambition to pass it THROUGH THE LINES and once we’ve done that we’ve been very impressive. Think McGregor has been good at moving away from that compressed area and giving options for our defenders to pass to him ahead of their press.

Took our goals really well too.

Bernardo for McGregor a while ago.

Yang & Idah for Kuhn & Maeda now.

Forrest & McCowan on now. First appearance for Forrest since getting injured in the League Cup Final in December.
