Celtic v Hibernian ☘

All eyes from TFK will be on Celtic Park tonight. A very rare Monday night outing for Celtic.

I expect the team will be along the lines of Fulvio’s prediction:

Hart
Ralston CCV Starfelt Juranovic

McGregor
Rogic Hatate

Abada Maeda Johnston

A bench then with Giakoumakis, Bitton, Ideguchi, Welsh, Scales, Taylor, a couple of others and a keeper. Maybe one or both of Jota or Forrest will make the bench but I’m not expecting that.

Selection decisions are probably around full backs (where I think Taylor misses out), midfield where I think Hatate will start ahead of Bitton or Ideguchi. And up front it mostly depends on fitness but we could see Maeda out wide and Giakoumakis through the middle with no Mikey.

Forrest seems to have been training away throughout the break. He’d surely be in ahead of Johnston, who’s been beyond hopeless.

What’s happened to Atjei?

Hamstring.

Ralston on the bench. Forrest is indeed fit to start. Jota makes the bench!

Harsh call on Ralston.

Looking forward to seeing the two new lads, think Maeda will be another star in the making

Ralston shafted.

Johnston is miles better than Forrest who is hopeless.

Little harsh on Ralston. I think we have better balance when Taylor is at left back but I would have thought Ralston has been a little better than Juranovic to date. Maybe Juranovic is needed for set pieces with Turnbull out but you’d think Ralston’s aerial ability would be just as important. Anyway with the subs numbers increasing and the better squad depth I think we’ll see more rotation between and during matches.

Actually the other player who is unlucky to miss out is Bitton who was excellent in the last game. But I don’t think he’ll have any real complaints.

And talk he’s working with his agent on arranging a move away this month too.

Is this game on telly?

Nope. You need to dust off your Scottish football subscription logins.

I know home non hun TV games are rare but I thought it was given its own slot a day ahead of the other games so it could be shown on telly. Ah well.

Sky have chosen far fewer of our games this season than usual.

Tremendous light show.

Turns out this is a stand-alone fixture tonight because Hibs’ cup game is on Thursday night.
