Celtic v Huns - Sunday, 12pm

Your incredulity that a team might see a video clip at half time is completely misplaced.

You’ve tried to pivot that into a completely different point about priorities even though nobody else has said anything about priorities.

There is enough to be disappointed about and even angry about with Celtic this season without inventing spurious reasons to add into the mix.

I haven’t pivoted anywhere. You took my point that showing a team spurious potential grievances at half time in an old firm game was frankly bizarre, and replied with the absolutely farcical strawman that “eh every team has a video of their games they look at”.
This plumbs the depths of tfk gymnastics.
“You’ve tried to pivot” :rofl::rofl:

They haven’t scored from open play against Celtic all season. They’re reasonably well organised but even our blunt attack has created plenty against them. They’re a shadow of the Rodgers team but with Celtic and Aberdeen being so poor this season they look like matching their league results.

But we showed no fight or effort all game. Against a team who played on Thursday night and we just strolled around the pitch at walking pace for most of it.

Good effort. Your “take” was hopelessly wrong. Best thing for you would be to move in.

I’d take any amount of money for Ryan Christie now. He plays 90 minutes every week and it’s astonishing. His form has been so bad. His effort is just as bad. And his decision making is even worse.

Quite surreal how big the clearout and recruitment drive ahead this summer is.

No bottle in that second half to go for it against a tired huns team with nothing to play for, not one of them even took a hun out. Spineless

No it wasn’t mate. You have Stockholm syndrome with respect to anything and anyone currently associated with the Celtic ownership and management. Did one of them say hello to you in the lounge one time?

My take isn’t much different to anyone else’s. Thought Celtic were the better team, created more chances but we’re a soft, mentally weak side. Not clinical enough to put the game out of sight and then concede from another set piece.

As others have said, what the fuck was Kenny doing smashing the ball back out for a corner from our own halfway line under no pressure? I was thinking before that he’s a nothing player. He’s like a full back from the 1980s. Keeps the width, tucks in at the back post in defence but has none of the attacking instincts and dynamism you want in a full back these days. In fairness, he put in a decent cross for Edouard late on that wasn’t taken.

The limp finale was fairly pathetic, especially after they played a high intensity knock out European tie on Thursday night. If anything, their subs gave them some late impetus and ours were made too late and/or had no impact on the game.

We had chances in each half from McGregor and Turnbull where McGregor blocked drilled low efforts from an angle with his feet when the cut back to Edouard was on each time. That said, Edouard frustrated me today. Outstanding play for the goal, some other excellent skills but mixed with careless touches and indecision in promising positions.

As an aside, McGregor has had plenty of big games in goal for them against us over the years, and for Rangers against us before that, but he’s like a snooker player with a permanent run of the balls. That Edouard first half shot that hit the inside of his leg, squirmed behind him but didn’t have enough pace to go over the line was typical.

I thought our centre halves were fine today but they didn’t have much ambition and were happy to see out the game for a draw. I do think we’d be absolutely fucked with that keeper and back four in European preliminaries in the summer; actually with that midfield too.

I haven’t even mentioned Willie Collum yet. Leaving the non penalty decision aside, he’s absolutely infuriating. Did you see him taking Brown out late on as the Huns broke? The amount of marginal decisions that fell for them was laughable. He played an outstanding advantage for Elyounoussi at one stage in the second half. Tackled late 25 yards out but the ball was funnelled back into our own half. That gimp with a big demonstrative advantage signal - we’ll take the free kick in shooting position, you cheating cunt.

Overall, it was another gutless display though. How has the situation been allowed to get like this? A whole new football operation off and onfield is required in one short summer transfer window.

That was ridiculous. He stopped play a few minutes before for a tackle on Elyounoussi when we had kept the ball well and were in a good position. Then we get a chance for a scorable free and he’s a big fan of advantage.

Anyway we’re miles off what is required for next season. For all that we were probably the better team they could easily have won that again. We need improvements in every area really.

Bain - only confirmed with his mess up/ snigger that he is back up at best
Kenny - not up to it, Everton wanting 10m good luck
Ajer- very good for 90% of the time but still very young and improving, likely wants to move this Summer
Welsh - okay for back up
Laxalt - one of his best games today but on his way back to Milan
Christie - get him to fuck
Brown - good game today but his time is up as a central figure of the team
McGregor - thought he was good, looks low on confidence/ shook by the season, definitely needs to be kept, hes proven his worth time enough
Turnbull - quiet game by his standards but exactly what we need going forward
Moi - incredibly frustrating player, still don’t know what he really offers and where he’s best suited given the system. Not pushed unless offered a cut price deal to keep
Eddy - from the sublime to the awful at times, will be gone this Summer for a low enough fee given only 12 months

Its effectively a complete turnover before you even look at the rest of the squad

No dive but he didn’t help himself by grinning after getting the yellow

I’d second that, especially ref Kenny- unforgivable today
Brown can be a liability at times, too old

In that starting XI you have three loanees, one player out of contract this summer and three more entering the final 12 months of their contracts. 2 of the 4 players under contract for more than 12 months are Welsh and Bain who aren’t anywhere near the standard we need.

This is some shitshow. Of course @Rocko will try and spin the blame for us being mismanaged at every single level of this club. Incompetent people appointing more incompetent people.

Yeah I’d agree with that.

Ajer is worth keeping but needs to learn how to attack the ball in the air. But he’s likely to go.

McGregor, Turnbull and Forrest will stay.

It’s scary how bad we are in every other position. We’ll probably have to struggle on with Barkas because we’ve so many other players to replace.

No full backs, one centre back left, one central midfielder and everyone else wants to leave. It’s a clusterfuck.

A fresh start lads.

Under a new manager I’d be looking to build the base of the team on:

-----------------------------Barkas

New------------Jullien---------------------Ajer**---------------New

-------------------Soro---------------McGregor

New------------------------Turnbull--------------------New

-----------------------------Edouard**

We have the ability to shed 100k+ off the wage bill by moving on Brown, Duffy, Eloyonoussi, Laxalt and Kenny. We should be putting those savings into doing all we can to keep hold of Ajer and Edouard. Make them serious offers to stay, don’t just do a @Rocko on it and say they won’t stay - make them offers that represent their worth and see what happens. Get a big name manager in and convince them of the project.

If we keep Edouard and Ajer, we then need to spend about £20m on top of anything incoming. If the options are taken up on Ntcham, Hendry, Bayo and Shved we could have close to £10m there.

I’d listen to offers on the following players - Christie, Rogic, Griffiths, Ajeti, Taylor, Bolingoli. Some of those guys could have a future under a fresh start but if a decent offer came in I’d accept. I think Ajeti is the worst bit of transfer business Celtic have done since Rafael Scheidt, the guy is a fat mess, he looks like a pub footballer and I think we should punt him at the first opportunity.

I’d send Klimala out on loan.

If Ajer and Edouard leave this summer then Celtic realistically need to be spending about £60m on players this summer to rebuild this team. That is certainly feasible with a much reduced wage bill from all the departures, debt free and £20m cash reserves and a billionaire owner but highly unlikely because of the biscuit tin mentality and posters on here who defend the biscuit tin mentality at all costs.

How old is Griffiths? I think he’s a fine fine player if/when he is in the right frame of mind.

30?

I’d agree on him, think he’s a brilliant player but he needs to play with a strike partner to be at his best and then there’s the professionalism and attitude issues.

I’d forgotten about Jullien!

Yeah I think you’ve identified the players we should hope to have. Edouard has actually been poor enough that it may not be worth our while selling him. There may not be a decent bid for him. Despite everything Ajer has been a reasonable success this season and I’d say some club will pay enough to get him away. He’ll be keen on a move too you’d think unless we bring in a progressive coach that will improve him.

I think Soro should be playing these games but I’m not convinced by him yet. He can be very sloppy and loose on the ball. Hard to judge anyone in the current team but I think we need some more defensive midfield options. Maybe Shaw is that new cover but it’s a very light midfield to rely on. McGregor is going to run out of legs soon because of the number of games he plays.

Hard to see Ntcham going to Marseille. Think he’s struggled there a bit. But we’d probably get that fee from some other French club anyway.

Griffiths is a distraction and needs to sort himself out.

Forrest and Johnston are potential starters if fit and confident but they need competition there. Players who will keep them out of the team if playing well.
