Celtic v Huns ☘

1230 kick off on Saturday.

Injury concerns for us around Taylor and Hatate. I believe Mooy will be back. Abada, Forrest and Ralston will be out.

Hatate would be a huge loss.

What’s the story with Hatate? Was Ange throwing in a curveball when he said last weekend that Hatate returned to training on Friday? Has he had a setback? Unfortunately O’Riley hasn’t really taken the chance afforded to him by Hatate and Mooy missing a couple of games. Iwata was fairly good last weekend but I would be inclined to restore McGregor to that deeper role rather than playing as one of the two more attacking midfielders.

I don’t know. But he wasn’t in any of the training photos from yesterday and apparently it’s the same now today. Taylor does seem to be training today however.

Yeah I think missing Hatate and playing McGregor out of position is two changes from our strongest midfield and we’re better if we can make that just one by starting O’Riley with Mooy.

Hatate definitely out, according to Ange. So McGregor at the base with Mooy and O’Riley ahead or Iwata deeper with Mooy and McGregor in front. Turnbull the midfield bench option along with whichever one of O’Riley and Iwata doesn’t start.

I saw James McCarthy in the training pictures, I forgot about him. He’s not even halfway through the 4-year deal Dom McKay gave him and he hasn’t been near a squad in months.

That’s a shame. I love watching Hatate play and he was too good for them in the game in September.

I’d rather play Iwata ahead of McGregor than move McGregor forward I think. But I expect O’Riley to play and that’s my preferred option.

Hatate is a big loss but another loss is Abada. He’s a great option to bring on and has done it in these games before.

I’m hoping Haksabanovic can be impactful off the bench.

Matty swapped his tickets for the semi final. Reckoned it’s not as much fun with no away support. Hard to argue. Big enough game this as a win would turn the screws on beale a notch, which would be lovely to see.
Enjoy the weekend though rocko.

I forgot that there would be no away fans again. Another obstacle for the huns to overcome. I think Nicholson was right to tell them to shove their 700 tickets & it would be back to the traditional away end allocation or nothing at all. It’s 5 years now since Edouard scored the late winner with 10 men that promoted their hissy fit and withdrawal of away tickets.

What’s the no away fans thing about?

They don’t want to give Celtic the usual allocation any more. They cite security concerns but there has been no trouble from Celtic fans at Ibrox. It’s more that they don’t like the gloating in their own stadium.

So they cut the allocation to 800 and so Celtic did the same. Celtic keep asking for the usual allocation and the Huns say no. So Celtic have said they would rather no fans than 800 because of the additional security hassle and so now it’s zero away fans in either stadium.

I predict next year it will be European allocations and 2,500 - 3,000 each. Because they can’t cite security concerns around that number or they wouldn’t be allowed play at home in Europe.

Sevco seem to have gone for a very mobile but lightweight midfield. Going toe to toe with Celtic might not be the wisest of moves. Goldson out for them, not a huge deal I think given he has been playing in some of the heavier recent defeats in this fixture.

Rangers team suggests they’re trying something new to see if it works for cup semi final …

I might have egg on my face, post game, ala Kirk Broadfoot but I think they’re in a bind. Beale got savaged by the Huns post cup final for going with a negative lineup & crude style but I think going for his more lightweight & technical (relatively typing) players will suit Celtic. @Bisto ‘s probably right about them looking to try out this before the cup semi.

I’d a fuckin ticket and all for this booked, work wouldn’t allow it. Now I’m lying on the bed looking at it thinking it looks unreal. Fuck it. Fuck it anyway. Hail Hail Glasgow Celtic.

Mooy is miles off it and looks a liability out there.

Commentators sick the Hun goal disallowed.
