Celtic v Kilmanock

Hugely important game on Saturday against Killie who nearly cost Lennon his job a few months ago.

Majstorovic has been ruled out for 6 weeks.

On the positive front we played against Morton in a friendly (I hate the words “bounce game”) today and won 3-1. The positive bit is that Izaguirre and Kelvin Wilson both played. Bangura scored twice (again) and Paul George got the other one. Izzy got an assist and James Keatings featured too and hit the post.

Izzy is back :clap:

In time to come we may look on the return to action of Keatings as very important. I have high hopes for him.

Izzy! :clap:

Celtic have also tweeted an additional injury update:

Ledley - available for Kilmarnock (having come through that friendly today);
Stokes, Matthews and McCourt - definitely available for the huns;
Commons and Loovens - returning to training next week but doubtful for the huns;
Mark Wilson - returning to training on Monday week.

Without them explicitly mentioning it, I take it Izaguirre will be available for Saturday if he got through today okay.

Izzy! :clap:

Izzy needs to play Saturday to be able to play against the huns. The others don’t need the game in between - they should be ok to come back. Great news to have them available though, Ledley, Stokes and Matthews are very important to us.

Delighted Ledley is back. Izzy only on the bench is a pity because he’ll need gametime but hopefully he can get a run. McCourt also back from injury so he makes the bench.

Wonder how we’ll line out - presume it will be a 4-4-2 type with Samaras beside Hooper but we could be 4-5-1 either.

Is this on TV?

Not on telly, chewy.

Cracking goal for St Mirren just before the interval to make it 1-1. Huns are down to 10 and playing very poorly.

McGowan is having a stormer for St Mirren. 2-1.

Hooper should have scored there but good reactions. He’s missed a couple like that recently though.

Ki is seeing plenty of the ball on the left hand side.

I’m not impressed with our defending at all today. Mulgrew had a terrific interception earlier but we’re letting them run off us with ease.

This is an extremely open game. We’re playing 4-3-1-2 and they’re getting space out wide on the break. Not playing great really.

What happened the chinky the used to have, naka…something

Sammy!!!

Smashing header by Sammy. :clap:

Not a good performance overall. Sloppy at the back, not tracking runners at times too. Ledley is probably our best player at left back so far.

Great end to the half. Sammy attacked it like an “old fashioned number nine” and buried it. Cha and Brown were contstantly giving the ball away on the right flank before then but did well for the goal.

Need a much better second half though - we’re very lucky to be ahead. More discipline required in midfield, need to be wary of their runners around the box and best way of killing this game will be by keeping the ball.

Huns down to 9.

Goian gone off for a second yellow (silly shirt tug). Also out of the Celtic game.
