Celtic v Malmo and vice-versa

Continuing the discussion from Champions League 2015/16 - Rounds of 78 through 48:

What team do we reckon for Wednesday? I think there are two decisions:

  • Forrest or GMS
  • Griffiths or Ciftci

I’d be inclined to go with GMS and Griffiths. I think Forrest is a better threat from the bench than GMS and Ciftci hasn’t played in 2 weeks now so I wouldn’t start him.

Gordon
Lustig Boyata Van Dijk Izaguirre
Brown Bitton
GMS Johansen Armstrong
Griffiths

SUBS: Bailly, Janko, Ambrose, Mulgrew, Commons, Forrest, Ciftci

GMS and Ciftci for me.

Stokes is playing for the development squad tonight. It was always unlikely he’d play but that’s it more or less confirmed anyway.

@Rocko, is our game being televised in South Africa and, if so, on what channel and, if so, what establishments showing the game in Port Elizabeth are Celtic/Ra friendly?

TIA,
B

@Bandage

Get in touch with our affiliates in the ANC, they should see you right.

And venues in Port Elizabeth? FFS sake.

Scott Allan is in the squad for the game.

Sorry mate. I’d guess The Brazen Head would be safest bet there on Cape Road. Barneys and Supoersportsbar and Independent Sports Bar are viable alternatives.

Really pumped for this. Just after watching Ronny’s press conference.

Rosenberg will be missing for them tonight.

Expected XI for Malmo:

Tinnerholm Arnason Bengtsson Yotùn;
Rodic Lewicki Rakip Berget;
Wolff-Eikrem;
Djurdjic

“How important is European football?”

“It’s very important. You ask that question every week!”

“Do you feel pressure?”

“I really enjoy it. It’s still the same questions every week…”

Is that the ex Celt Berget mate ?

It is yeah. He was a bit of a figure of abuse and rightly so because he was very lightweight and didn’t show any conviction, but he did look a goal threat every time he played. They have a few relatively decent wingers:

  • Berget
  • Rodic (young Serbian lad who seems highly rated)
  • Sana (Swedish international who was with Ajax but seems to have deteriorated badly recently)

I’m going for Celtic -1 tonight, pal.

I’d like a win to nil. Preferably over 6 but I’d be happy out with 2-0.

Informative rating

Slightly disappointed we’ve no Janko on the bench given Lustig’s injury record. Ambrose is more versatile but also much more disruptive to our style of play.

I have backed the Celtic to win and keep a clean sheet at 17/10

Disappointed GMS isn’t starting.
