Mikael Lustig is travelling with the squad to Malmo this morning. John Collins says he’s making good progress and they’ll give him every chance to play. He also said Van Dijk will be playing and is fully focused.
Ronny in bullish form in the press conference just now saying Celtic are a better team than Malmo and will prove it tomorrow.
Celtic’s season will be significantly more exciting and rewarding if they progress tonight. The last three months has been geared towards Champions League group qualification so tonight is massive for the development of the manager and players as well as the financial well being of the club. I won’t get to see the match but I trust that Ronny will have the bhoys primed to deliver the performance required. Wouldn’t mind seeing a bit of pre match IRAoke on the thread as the day progresses.
Outstanding post.
Get with the programme, mate.
Augsburg 0 Bayern Munich 7 is far more exciting to watch than West Ham 3 Bournemouth 4.
Malmo manager had a meltdown at the presser.
No Lustig. Izzy dropped
@CeltsStuff: CELTIC v Malmo:
Gordon;
Janko, Boyata, van Dijk, Mulgrew;
Brown, Bitton;
Forrest, Johansen, Armstrong;
Griffiths.
Interesting. Maybe Ronnie felt he could only go with one attack minded full back.
I think it might also be to keep height in the back 4 for set pieces. Having Bitton helps but we have a small attacking 4 when there’s no Stokes or Ciftci and 2 small full backs might see us struggle defending set pieces.
SUBS: Bailly, Izzy, Ambrose, Rogic, Commons, Mackay-Steven, Ciftci
I got the Malmo team bang on again.
Ronny referred to Charlie’s “calmness in situations” in describing why he’s starting. Izzy definitely panicked a lot last week, particularly in the last 10 which really invited pressure.
TV3 in HD for the match. Think that’s new for them.
