Celtic v Motherwell, Sunday 12:30pm

Is there a moratorium on discussion of this or what?

I’m afraid, sid. I won’t concede anything to them and I still hope/believe but I have accepted (I think) that we may not win the league.

Maloney, Forrest and Stokes will come in for Samaras, Loovens and Commons tomorrow IMO.

I think we will win by 3. The huns will cruise to a comfortable victory and will be a goal up within the first 10 minutes however. :frowning:

I know Kilmarnock have players out but lets grasp at some straw here. Rangers have beaten them three times in the league but only by one goal each time.

Kenny Shiels has been saying a lot of positive things about Celtic and Neil Lennon recently, seems like a decent guy and if he could get even a draw out of tomorrow he’d be well in to get the job there permanently. They did us a favour in 1998 at Ibrox. You just never know.

I feel a bit more positive about tomorrow as at least Celtic have taken it to the final day with a superb performance on Wednesday when I was fearing the chase would end. Strangely optimistic even though I’ve already accepted we probably won’t win the league.

Let’s have a thumping win for Lenny and let the rest take care of itself.

4-0 Celtic.

1-1 at Rugby Park.

I expect us to line out as Totti has predicted.

Not an ideal team, particularly Maloney on the wing, but options are limited and we should be good enough to win anyway.

Not expecting much from the other game and I’d want Killie to be 3 up with a minute left before I even began to hope.

How are people watching this tomorrow? Don’t have Sky and there’s no red button with UPC so will have to rely on a stream - bit shit with the delays that involves etc.

I am red button enabled thankfully

Good post. I’ve also been doing some study and homework to see what chance we have. The results would indicate that it’s a very slim chance.

Killie have won 1, drawn 2 and lost 7 out of their 10 matches against fellow top 6 sides in the SPL this season. As you say, they’ve lost all 3 previous games to the huns but only by a goal on each occasion.

They’ve played the huns 45 times since the SPL was formed - their record is won 2, drawn 6, lost 37.

But… their last home league win against the huns was when Tommy Burns was their manager. It’s the 3rd anniversary of Tommy Burns’ passing tomorrow. A sign?

Shiels seems like an alright sort but they have Hamill and Eremenko suspended.

The longer it stays level the better obviously and even better again if we can get ahead in our match and build up pressure on them. The huns are nearly always quickly out of the traps and an early goal for them would be real sickener.

Something Inside So Strong is being played before kick-off at Celtic Park tomorrow in honour of Neil.

I believe the Sunday papers in Scotland are carrying ā€˜I’m staying at Celtic’ stories with him tomorrow too. I think the support will give him and the team a rapturous reception before the game and the 18th minute applause should be pretty special.

And I reckon they’ll be given a great ovation at the end too, even if the other result doesn’t go our way. Everyone wants to show solidarity with the manager and there’ll be a real defiance and resolve to come back stronger next season.

As I said earlier, I’m prepared for the worst though it still seems a bit surreal to be in this position having taken 7 points from 9 against them since Christmas. That said, there’s been some great football played by Celtic this season and I’m looking forward to this team growing with Neil Lennon as manager.

As for team selection tomorrow, I think Loovens was fine on Wednesday and I don’t see the back four changing. I always say it but I don’t like 2 out and out wingers and I’d leave Mulgrew on the left and I reckon he’ll start Forrest for the suspended Commons. I’d expect Stokes to come in for Samaras.

Forster,
Wilson, Loovens, Majstorovic, Izaguirre,
Forrest, Brown, Ki, Mulgrew,
Stokes, Hooper.

Hooper needs a brace to tie with Miller for the ā€˜Golden Boot’, a hat trick would be nice

Our day of reckoning has came lads. Lets hope for the best.

Presume Commons is injured lads? Paddy Power don’t seem to think so anyway. Celtic winning the league and an Igor Anton victory in the volcano stage of todays Giro would be just lovely.

He’s suspended after his sending off on Wednesday night.

Stokes injured?

Not sure. Didn’t see any reports and he was on the bench on Wednesday.
