We look like weâve spent a lot of time on figuring out how to beat defensive teams - low blocks etc. As you said earlier, part of it is definitely the quick restarts etc. But apart from the tempo there are other little patterns with OâRiley and the full backs that are bringing teams out of their shape. And then Hatate is brilliant at opening up the play deeper.
I was surprised they put Kamara on McGregor from the start. It meant Hatate just dropped in there too and was really influential. And Kamara wasnât even that effective on McGregor.
I think they put too much stock in their defensive stability too. Tavernier isnât a great defender and Barisic is really hesitant and vulnerable now. And Sands is poor.
It wasnât very long but we had 10 men without Kyogo for a couple of minutes and they just kept the ball between their centre backs. I think they thought theyâd defend comfortably in a slow game and sneak a goal. They were miles off.

Is there an option to buy the new arrival from Ruban Kazan?
I donât think so but there may be some sort of agreement. Iâm not sure there can be an agreement with current sanctions.
We were apparently able to buy Haksabanovic because Rubin Kazan still had outstanding payments on their purchase of him in the first place. So we didnât have to send money to Russia - we just cleared their international debt. Not sure we can do the same for Abildgaard. But there may be an âagreementâ on what the fee may be.
