Celtic v Rangers - Sunday 12.30pm, Sky Sports

He is the reference point for literally everything in the world now. I wish we didn’t live in that world, but c’est la vie.

Ah he’s a clown , albeit a passionate one . Playing up to the cameras . He had them up for their cup final today but they were still very poor . Celtic were just worse . It’s like rangers have beem wound up for their season and Celtic have started to wind down. Season is over .

Fucking hell. Just finished watching as live. Some of the senior players were absolutely brutal. That last goal was a complete shitshow. A goal kick! CCV ducking out of the aerial challenge bizarrely. Johnston falling over initially, running back & then teeing up Igamane with a timid tackle. Two of our most reliable players and both of them were absolutely useless today. Nawrocki, even though he couldn’t build up the play out his side, was the best of the back four & that says something.

Our goalscorers & Yang were probably our best players. The amount of basic mistakes & poor decisions was embarrassing. Schlupp didn’t cover himself in glory for the first goal, letting Raskin run off him from the corner. Similarly, Engels let him run off him for the second to flick onto the goalscorer.

Schmeichel’s kicking was awful too, usually a big strength, & I don’t think Johnston was good for the second goal either. Caught on his heels & thinking CCV was going to receive a ball from the keeper & we gave up cheap possession in our own half.

Shouldn’t be losing that game once it went back to 2-2. Losing twice in a row to them is borderline criminal & I’m metaphorically throwing my toys out of the pram. Ferguson is like a jocko Stuart Pearce or something but you’d be a bit of dick to be “looking at the bigger picture” & claiming it’ll be great if they appoint him permanently on the back of these couple of results. It’s just a totally unacceptable & embarrassing display.

Rangers played 120 of the most, frantic, frenetic, draining minutes possible on Thursday night.

Celtic had no game in midweek. The was the biggest game remaining in Celtic’s season.

Not good.

Rangers got played off the park on Thursday.
Celtic’s biggest remaining game is the next cup game that can potentially lead to them winning the treble

European ties are two matches. Rangers played Fenerbahce off the park in Turkey. The game in Ibrox on Thursday night was an end to end thriller. Fenerbahce probabaly had the better of it but Rangers deservedly won out overall.

It was proper top level European fare.

Celtic should have been right up for that today, all the circumstances were in their favour.

They were rotten against Rangers over Christmas as well. They could be in bother next season if Rangers apply themselves.

Yeah it was dreadful. A lot of criticism of the tactics online and I think we clearly struggle with how they play against us. But the players need ti take much more responsibility. The passing from the back was abysmal. We couldn’t work it to the full backs even and when we did they invariably went backwards with it. I don’t think that’s instructed at all. That was just a shit show from players spooked by a moderate press. And while we can go more direct we need to be able to pass the ball a bit.

The players have been spooked by a moderate press from the Huns for the last three or four games though.

9 goals conceded in the last 3 games against them.

I definitely think there’s an element of the huns figuring out Celtic/Rodgers, knowing when/how to press, launching quick breaks from interceptions etc but there’s also a strong element of Celtic inexplicably playing into their hands across this run of games. It’s a bit chicken & egg…is their tactical set up unsettling Celtic on the ball or are these just a load of shitty unforced mistakes?

Taylor rolling the ball square to their fella on halfway to break away in the cup final. Scales giving the ball away under no pressure in his own half for the first goal at Ibrox. Free headers from corners in a couple of games. A goal coming from a kick out. It’s been quite farcical. Even Schmeichel rolling the ball to Cerny for the first half chance today.

Rodgers clearly has a high opinion of himself so if the team rock up to Ibrox after the split & fall into the same pressing traps & shit themselves again, it’ll be an indictment on him.

I’d be with Lady Bracknell on this tbh.

I know nought about fitba, but that Celtic fella falling over for the 3rd Rangers goal…
