Celtic appealed the red card today, or at least before today’s deadline. That means Brown can play on Sunday.
Rogic wasn’t great to be honest - not sure he’s ready to start. He was more heavily involved than I thought he’d be, we played a lot through him, but his touch was a bit off. Understandable but I’d say it might just be a game too soon for him to start again.
I think I’d start Roberts ahead of Forrest. Roberts was poor when he came on against them the last time but he’s been terrific off the bench recently and if we have that sort of solid midfield 3 then I think we can afford him as a more luxury player.
I’m not massively keen on starting McGregor. I presume it’s one of McGregor/Bitton/Rogic (assuming I haven’t forgotten someone obvious). I like Bitton more than most and I think I’d be tempted to go with him. Armstrong does his best work in a slightly deeper #8 role usually but he was effective against Sevco from a more advanced position before and can be again. That said, I think Brendan likes McGregor, particularly at the moment and will start him.
He’ll also be conscious of his “the team that finishes should be as strong as the team that starts” philosophy which means Rogic, Roberts and Griffiths could all be sprung from the bench in the second half.
Hmmm. I concur on Rogic but I think I’d start McGregor and play Roberts instead of Forrest. But Roberts has a bit more experience playing centrally now from that spell when Griffiths and Dembélé were both out. He was disappointing last time against them but his form has been excellent recently and he’s creating too many chances/goals to just play him for 25 minutes I reckon.
