Celtic v Sevco ☘

He’s had at least 4 or 5 promising positions but failed to make the most of them.

I can understand why the ref has given the red card says the co commentator.

That looked waaaaay worse on the live viewing than it actually was.

In reality it wasn’t the first cousin of a red card.

Another goal for Celtic before half time would be good.

O’Neill absolutely roasting Tounekti for recycling the ball & not driving at them.

He looks a bit overwhelmed by the whole thing

I tell you what, I’ve seen lads put off for that

The reality is Celtic were always going to win this game because there’s an emotional energy around it which dictates it’s an inevitability. Celtic know it, Rangers know it, the referee knows it, the fates know it.

I didn’t think the offside goal was offside, but I presume it must have been. I didn’t think the asgaard red was a red at all on first viewing, but he seemed on the replay to look where he was putting his boot, and the ref was certain. Trusty should have had a red the moron.
Sevco are absolutely brutal at the back. Still they look like scoring too through some random mistake.
Why on earth the Celtic back 4 pass among themselves I can never understand. It gets slower and slower until they quickly rid themselves of it or pass it to an opposition midfielder.

Trusty was very silly & quite fortunate to escape red there.

That was a real throwback. Celtic played at a breakneck tempo & got absolutely stuck into them from the start. It reminded me of watching a Celtic team managed by Martin O’Neill.

Celtic have been quicker to second balls & winning duels. They’re also having lots of success with direct diagonal balls into that space between Ndiga & Tavernier. Tounekti should have created more from lots of promising moments where he’s been driving into the box.

Other chances too where a little bit more composure with the final pass or choice of finish & Celtic could be further ahead. That said, the huns had a couple of brilliant chances despite Celtic dominating general play. Both of those have been before the sending off though. Celtic will need to keep their discipline now & wear them down with the extra man. Don’t give them any sniff or the ref an opportunity to even it up. That’s why Trusty’s lazy foot was sloppy.

That was a very open half.

Have clearly been the better team but still given up plenty of chances.

We’ve done well in midfield. Or better than recent games against them. In fact the whole performance, while far from perfect, is streets ahead of those recent efforts.

Our pace up front is causing them lots of problems. Tounekti not making the most of his chances but he’s been a good out ball. Kenny looks confident and Nygren is getting into very good positions and looks much more effective when we’re playing with pace ahead of him. Maeda has been really good too.

Finally a word for Ralston. Not a fan and he’s had rough games but he’s been very good so far. And lastly Schmeichel has done well also.

Trusty wasn’t a lazy foot. He flicked out at him. Red all day. The ref may try and even this up.

Whip Tounekti for Forrest and switch with Maeda. He’s not at the races today.

Great energy to Celtic. Great song list too, great to hear the Boys of the Old Brigade and the Roll of Honour.

Martin O’Neill, Martin O’Neill……

I’ve missed Celtic so much these last two years. Thank fuck the rat is well gone!!

We have done very little passing around at the back. The odd time we’re doing it to draw them on and then playing it behind their back three and that’s working well.

Rangers are all over the gaff at the back, they’re all following the ball . All it takes is quick Celtic touches and they’re in each time . it’s gas how tounetki looked Celtic’s most lively player for weeks and now the rest have upped their game, he looks ponderous.
The difference in application from Celtic players is unbelievable, full of energy and commitment.Trusty has been immense , Nygren looks way sharper in possession .
Raskin looks lost when he’s the one being hunted instead of looking great hunting McGregor in previous games .
Celtic should be more ahead . Just worry about the space in between scales and sirachi when ball played to back post

Bizarre seeing anyone on here suggesting that wasn’t a red for Asgaard. It’s absolutely blatant.

Less than usual but still plenty. Scales gives me the fear. Maybe I’m over sensitive to it.

Bizarre anyone saying trusty shouldn’t have had a red too.

Where?

Trusty and Scales are actually carrying the ball up the field when the gap appears
