Celtic v St Johnstone

CELTIC: Gordon;
Janko, Van Dijk, Boyata, Izaguirre;
Bitton, Brown;
Commons, Rogic, Mackay Steven,

SUBS: Bailly, Ambrose, McGregor, Stokes, Forrest, Mulgrew, Allan

A pathetic concession after 10 mins.

Winger breaks into our box and GMS tracking back can’t make the tackle.

Low ball across box should have been cut out by Gordon but he got down very slow and just let it squeeze past him to the unmarked Boyata who had all the time in the world to tap it home unchallenged into his own net. Pathetic.

Green Brigade not happy.

Good effort from Griffiths but his header is cleared off the line.

Deflected equaliser after some decent passing around the edge of their box and Griffiths takes the responsibility to shoot and a helpful deflection looped the ball into the top corner.

GMS looks low on confidence all of a sudden. Great chance there and he panicked.

Good effort from Brown from 20 yards but just shaves the outside of the post on its way wide.

GMS had a good chance on the break there to release Rogic but his pass was too wide and Rogic couldn’t get a shot off.

2-1 just before HT.

Ball into Rogic who showed good strength to see off his man, then good feet to come inside and beat the next man and good composure to finish. Lovely goal. He’s been decent today.

Just now (during the match):

CELTIC are delighted to announce the signing of Tyler Blackett on a season long loan from Manchester United.

Great chance for Commons on the volley after more excellence from Rogic but he rushed it.

Rogic goal:

Nice run by Commons (who hasn’t been great) but a good save from Mannus.

3-1 Slow start to the second half but stepped it up a bit after the hour with Commons finally beginning to spark. Couple of half chances and Mannus saved well from a lovely Commons effort but we took the corner quickly and Commons crossed for Mulgrew to head home.

We look as inept as ever defending crosses into the box. Losing headers and everyone not involved in the first header just standing around watching rather than marking anyone or reacting to the next ball.

And another sitter for St Johnstone just as I write that. Awful at clearing our lines and leaving free men in our box all the time. Really really poor.

Allan coming on for Commons who was quiet in the first half but turned it on a bit after the break in fairness.
