I’m thinking Scales has won the jersey back from Trusty after coming on for him at half time in the cup final. I know Trusty missed Tannadice with sickness but he’s been on the bench the last two games now. Sensible to rest McGregor & Maeda & there’s probably an Ibrox midfield spot up for grabs between the starters today. Good to see Valle get a start too.
Edit: And I also missed the return from injury of Johnston. Important too to get him back.
Not a big enough sample size of games under Valakari to predict with certainty how St Johnstone will set up. But you’d have to expect a very low block @Galaxy.
You mentioned a few weeks ago that there was a broad plan for selection for this run of games and that seems to be the case alright. Injuries and sickness have played a role too but the players who couldn’t rest before now are getting a chance today. And agreed that we’ve probably seen Scales take over from Trusty. But midfield and left back still up for grabs.

Dominated that half completely. Engels has been lively. Kuhn is wonderful.

Plenty of entertaining football today & good to see Kyogo get a couple after recent below par displays. Was hoping Yang would score to give him some confidence, think he did okay today but isn’t really good enough but we might need him for a stretch of games off the bench. Scales was very solid - I presume you’ll get a chance to closely review the first half of the cup final again before the Ibrox encounter on Thursday to see exactly why Trusty was hauled off. He seems to have taken the blame for Celtic not being able to play through the hun press.
