Celtic v St Mirren ☘

I can take joy from that but I won’t take joy from a regressive manager and a frugal board who are holding Celtic back. The huns have collapsed in the new year, that’s what has changed.

John McGinn!! You’ll be resurrecting your Stevie May suggestion next.

I’m showing up the blatant hypocrisy of you, defending the board who let John McGinn slip through their fingers for a bargain price and then lauding AEK Athens as far worse than Cluj or Copenhagen.

There’s absolutely no way that AEK was worse than Cluj - no way whatsoever. Cluj was the prior round for a start.

You’re just a shill for the board, consistently defending the indefensible.

AEK weren’t worse. They were much of a muchness. Our performance was worse. Much worse. It has nothing to do with your obsession with McGinn.

I take great enjoyment in it, but winning the spl due in significant part to rangers being shit doesn’t make it an excellent season. We failed in Europe, and more to the point, looked insipid doing so. We’ve gone significantly backwards in the only true yardsticks which are the old firm games, and against low to midranking European teams, which is grand if you’re happy to be the best cloggers in Scotland, rather than a big European club.
Personally, I’m happy just beating the Huns, and I don’t get too agitated about Europe, but, success in Europe allows Celtic to keep that edge. Failure , and sevco become financially more competitive.
I see Lennon as an unimaginative, relatively safe pair of hands yes man, with dubious regard for the truth. He’ll get a team of average hackers clogging their way to a mediocre level, which in Scotland is sufficient at present.
Celtic will always turn over an odd team, especially at home, but they’ve been average in the extreme in big games

Bullshit.

The performance against Cluj at Celtic Park was an absolute embarrassment.

The performance against Copenhagen at Celtic Park was an embarrassment.

The McGinn saga was the biggest embarrassment of all, he’s better than every single midfielder in our squad and we let him slip through our fingers for a bargain fee. It was the primary factor in Rodgers walking.

You’re defending the indefensible yet again. You like Lennon as he’s a yes man for the board, just like you.

As was the performance against AEK Athens. In both legs. But you don’t seem to be able to respond to that point without having a hissy fit about a player who has never played for Celtic and has nothing to do with Celtic.

Correct. The Celtic Board installed me here as a patsy so I can talk them up and get TFK onside with their frugality.

Meanwhile Celtic are winning another game and you’re roaring crying.

I think the club should live within its means.

They’re winning another game, which is great, but observe the st mirren defence (or lack thereof) for that goal.
You can only best what’s in front of you, but.

Gggrrriiiiffffiiittthhhhsssssssss

AEK Athens was a round further than Cluj. You were the guy saying that AEK was worse than Cluj and Copenhagen. We were shocking over in Cluj too when they were there for the taking, we completely collapsed in the second half against Copenhagen away.

We haven’t gone any further this year, we got knocked out of the CL a round earlier, we made it to the same stage of the EL and got knocked out by an inferior team than us.

You’re the type of guy who will be passing off a win over St Mirren as some sort of majestical achievement, you’re a yes man, you want to deliver a narrative where failing is achieving.

They were in the same round you fool. You’ve constructed your whole argument around a meaningless point that would prove nothing but is factually incorrect anyway.

I’d say you’re miserable now that we’re two up.

As I predicted.

It’s been a failure of a season overall. Only for Edouard, Lennon would be out of a job. Here you are citing a win that should be routine as some hallmark of excellence. Celtic won’t kick on with a board who are only interested with the bottom line and a manager who knows he’s only in the job because he’ll do what he’s told.

Lennon would be out of a job if the players weren’t playing so well for him!!:joy:

Ah I see you’ve just completely ignored your complete fuck up on the qualifiers! I feel sorry for you because you seemed to be placing an awful lot of stock in that point.

The second goal with apologies to those who support Celtic but don’t value the Scottish league.

You’re a bit dim, I said one player. Most of them aren’t playing well, in fact Lennon is picking players who are consistently letting the team down but Edouard has been in sensational form this season and has carried the side.

I choose not to look on Edouard’s sensational form as a negative reflection on the manager. Then again I’m not a miserable crank.

You choose not look at anything as a negative reflection of the manager, most notably the continued selection of James Forrest when he’s been absolutely putrid for months, so we can hardly call you objective.
