Hatate is having a poor game again
A better performance than the weekend. Certainly pressing them better and we were moving it quickly. But we’re pushing it wide too often I think and don’t have our wide players or the #8s rotating back inside enough.
Juranovic has been really good. Hatate looks like he’s lost confidence with some of his passing and decision making around their box. Jota looked off form but he’s come into it a bit more. Maeda has done some amount of work but not really getting a sniff of goal bar a few very awkward headers.
I’d like to see us releasing Jota a bit to play more centrally too. He is still getting by players out on the wing but that’s exactly where they want him beating players. It will be more difficult for him if he comes inside but he doesn’t need to be successful all the time. Need to take a few more risks on the ball around their box.
Worrying last 15 mins of the half i thought. Hatate, Jota and Abada sloppy enough
