Aghahowa - did he leave in the end? I remember him going somewhere but I don’t recall seeing him playing for anyone. Tymoschuck is supposed to be leaving this summer I think but again not 100% sure. They’ve loads of money anyway so might not have much problem replacing them.

Article on prize money in the Champions League - illustrates just how important it is for Celtic to make the group stages this season as opposed to the UEFA Cup. UEFA Cup might be better for coefficients but the CL is where it’s at for cash.

How does this draw work tomorrow Bandage? How are they making the draw before knowing who has qualified for the next round? Say if Rangers got beaten by Zeta would Zeta then become the seeded team in the final qualifying round?

That’s exactly what I don’t understand.

I think Zeta would become the seeded side as I think that’s what happened Artmedia 2 years ago when they beat us in the 2nd round. They then won the 3rd round game and qualified for the group stages.

Hardest of the draws we could have I think. They’re halfway through their league and top of the table. Still we should be beating teams of that ilk and we’ll hardly be complacent as we were against Artmedia Bratislava 2 years ago.

Celtic are going out. Liverpool tough draw but will go through. Tricky sticky draw for the Gooners. The 'Gers will stroll it through to group stages.

Que the Bouys saying that they’ll win the tie in the 2nd leg and go on to win the CL. Reality will be when they go out to Spartak they’ll say that who needs the CL, the SPL is where it’s at, the Huns will be distracted, 3 in a row blah blah blah.

It is a tough draw but Celtic are and should be a better team than Spartak Moscow and therefore will hopefully progress.

If we don’t progress it will be the UEFA Cup where it’s at and not the SPL.

As I said to rocko offline; sure it’s a tough tie but we’re going to have to beat teams of this ilk if we’re going to win the tournament.

At the time of the draw I didn’t realise that they play on an artificial turf. That’s the most worrying aspect of it for me - it’s a completely different game. We’ve nobody left in the squad who will have played on that sort of surface before I don’t think either and Kennedy isn’t supposed to be allowed to play on astro because of his knees.

Still all in all I expect us to win through.

I wasn’t aware that teams were let play on astro in Europe until I heard they play on that surface. It would be a blow to play without Kennedy too as that greasy hun, Pressley, would probably get selected ahead of the more deserving O’Dea, Balde or Caldwell.
