I didnât make the comparison.
I said it doesnât say a lot for the side lauded as the greatest club side of all time that Madrid are very close to doing 3 CL titles in 4 years.

Athletico wore their home kit in previous Champions League clashes with Real. They wore their change kit tonight, apparently under orders from UEFA. Reports in Spain say the real reason was because they wanted a change of luck and were happy to change on this occasion without any input from UEFA.
That worked out well.
Now you say youâre not making the comparison and then you immediately go and re-make it.
Make up your mind.
I hardly noticed Bale was missing there tonight.
Youâre imagining a comparison.
Iâm saying that it doesnât reflect well on a team labelled the greatest club side of all time when Madrid, in the brief aftermath of their demise, look on course to do 3 in 4 years. It took that Barcelona side 7 years to do that.
That doesnât fit well.
The Real team of the 50s/60s have been lauded and are the greatest club side of all time, that Barca side, that Liverpool team and that Milan team are not far behind,
But youâve just gone and made that comparison for the third time while simultaneously claiming youâre notâŚ
Itâs not a comparison, itâs a statement of fact.
Who is the pretty lady interviewing Toni Kroos on BT?
i) That it is a comparison is a fact.
ii) The opinion you proffer in making that comparison is not a fact. It goes directly against the facts, which are that Barcelona have been consistently more successful in terms of trophies at all levels going back well over a decade and have consistently and still do hold the upper hand over Real Madrid in head to head meetings, despite their decline as a team.
Any such comparison can only be treated as a wind up, which Iâm fully aware it is, by the way.
No. Itâs a statement of fact.
Real are now very close to being able to do 3 CL titles in 4 years. That is very much a fact.
It also wouldnât reflect too well on the side lauded the greatest club side of all time if a team can come in after them and notch up 3 CL titles bish bash bosh in nearly half the time.
Sure thatâs just a re-write of your previous post. I refer you to my previous post for the reply to it.
Warming up nicely now Ger⌠Iâd say game onâŚ
You seem to be intent on trying to put words in my mouth.
Real are very close to putting 3 CL titles in 4 years together.
It took the side labelled as the greatest club side in history 7 years to do that.
If Real go ahead and complete that then it will not rest well with that Barcelona sideâs legacy as they will have effectively done what Barcelona did in half the time and managing to do back to back.
There is no doubt about the fact that 2008-2013 Barcelona were a much better side than the Real Madrid team of that same era. I donât contend that but it will put into perspective the ridiculous hyperbole around that particular Barcelona side if in the immediate aftermath of that Barcelona sideâs deterioration that Madrid then go and do 3 CL titles in 4 years like it was a walk in the park.
Go easy on him
What I love most about this is that you donât count the 3 European cups in 6 years Barca won because itâs a different era. You love your eras so you do.
