Disappointing result tonight. We certainly should be beating this mob at Celtic Park, they’re really poor.

That’s not a disappointing result.

The defence was solid with the exception of Bolingoli who put in a Mo Camara Artmedia Bratislava performance.

Midfield was ok, Brown won a lot of tackles, McGregor was poor mostly but had a good last 25 minutes or so. Christie was poor as well, his touch let him down numerous times.

Forrest was brilliant in the first half but very quiet in the second, he’s nowhere near the same player playing from the left. Edouard was very dangerous but made a few poor decisions at times. Our final ball or final decision making was very poor, I think we should have this game pretty much out of sight like we did with Sarajevo. They look a marginally better side that Sarajevo.

The result will make us favourites but they’re poor and we should have been taking a win out of that.

I think they’re comfortably better than Sarajevo.

Agreed mostly with your assessment otherwise. Elhamed and Ajer were very good I think.

I don’t know, they didn’t really open us up too much. The goal was soft and was so routine for them, apart from that it must pretty much all half chances and set plays where they threatened.

They are old, have little pace and we had many great openings but were lacking that composure and final ball to create the chance. They’re really limited and it’s disappointing not to come out of there with the job done.

They play direct but they’re reasonably effective. They put in some great balls from corners and free kicks and looked good on the break. They weren’t brilliant in general open play at all but even winning the league in Romania makes them decent - that’s not the worst standard.

Goal was very soft alright. Not sure who was back with Bolingoli but we never got organised against them and Morgan missing the tackle and then tracking inside initially with his momentum caused Bolingoli problems. Bolingoli went on to have other issues though.

A mention also for the cameraman who was a throwback to a bygone era. Picked out every female in a strappy top in the crowd with his wandering lens.

He looks like a car crash, techically poor, he’s not slow but not quick either, positionally he doesn’t know where he’s going and he missed a load of tackles and got himself caught in awkward situations.

It’s very worrying in the face of the Tierney developments.

I’d be less inclined to sell Sinclair after that to be honest.

Morgan offered no protection on that flank and Johnston is still young and not strong defensively. Johnston is clearly first choice there but I’d rather Sinclair as my backup than Morgan. (I doubt Arzani or Shved are going to be the answer on the left either).

Oh and I do think Bolingoli is very quick, if nothing else.

I’d sell him. I wouldn’t be just keeping him because the other options don’t convince, Sinclair is done, selling him might help us bringing in a player who can actually contribute to the team.

I thought Elhamed was really assured. It’s grand playing well on the front foot at home in the league (as he and Bolingoli did on Saturday), but that was solid out. He was positionally sound, alert, showed a good turn of pace, composed in possession and offered a good outlet on the overlap. He did well for the goal.

Bolingoli was terrible and Morgan’s not up to it, as I suspected.

We should have enough to beat them by a couple of goals at home but stranger things than them getting a score draw or narrow win have happened before.

I’d sell Sinclair too. Celtic shouldn’t really have a reserve wide player as their top earner. He was linked with a £2.5mn move to Preston last week.

Forrest Christie Johnston

SUBS
Simunovic
Ntcham

I think he might start Ntcham and move Christie to a wide role.

I also reckon he’ll restore the Ajer/Simunovic partnership and drop the £7mn centre back.
