Ntcham has started the season well. Christie is much more effective centrally I think but it would definitely be a more solid defensive team if that was the case.
Simunovic and Ajer played together as much as possible since Lennon took over. People read a lot into Jullien not starting but Lennon played them ahead of Benkovic (and Boyata I guess) last season because he knew they would be his partnership in CL qualifying. Just not sure if he’d be tempted to change it after Jullien playing at the weekend but could go either way.
Johnston as a wing back didn’t work before and would be very nervous if that was the case tonight. I guess McGregor could be wing back or full back on that side.
We’ve usually played a left back further forward than the right back anyway.
Obviously Bolingoli is a bombscare so I can understand Lennon making the call to take him out but I’m not sure about robbing Peter to pay Paul.
I’m not a fan of Hayes, I think he could be a risk too at left back but I think he did a pretty reasonable job there last season, is he injured? Good to see Bayo on the bench but no Shved?
