It’s based on the last 5 years of European competition, without taking domestic achievements into consideration. I think the anomaly still exists in that you get the same amount of co-efficient points per win in the Champions League as you do in the UEFA Cup/Europa League. That probably explains why Sevilla are top seeds - they won the UEFA Cup twice over the last few years.
They’ve ironed that out a small bit by giving you extra points for getting to the group stages of the CL so while matches earn you the same points in either competition, you get a little something extra just for progressing to CL. It’s still not enough of a copmensation and explains why the huns are seeded far higher than Celtic despite not being in the CL nearly as regularly recently.
Apoel make it two cypriot teams in as many years to make the group stages…Wouldn’t have thought that the Cypriot league would have much more resourses than the LoI or possibly even less…don’t think there are a million people in Cyprus either…Fair play to them, their representatives last year(can’t remember their name) more than held their own, think they even got a draw against Inter
