Utd should have gone ahead there…very poor miss from rvp
its 2-1 pal
Cracking first shot from Van Persie but lost all composure for that simple chance that followed.
wellbeck has been excellent tonight. Van Persie with a couple of good chances there. United have been very dangerous going forward in the second half. Real defence is getting no protection from its midfield. Khedira is pretty average, surprised Modric didnt come on for him
Varane has that same uncanny ability as Stephen McManus to mistime his headers and end up heading backwards.
With that lovely head of hair, Luka Modric looks like Shaun Ryder in the video for the Happy Mondays’ Madchester classic, “Step On”.
Arbeloa and Alonso are not good enough for Madrid, Khedira has had a very good game for Real tonight though.
Manchester Unted still defending very comfortably.
Public announcement over the tannoy asking Johnny Evans and Robin Van Persie to refrain from raping any of Madrid’s women on their trip over.
Madrid really lacking something in the final third
That was a poor game. The Celtic-Juventus game was of a much higher standard last night.
Madrid are a very predictable team.
Utd will be well happy with at result.they deserved at least a point…utd should be strong enough at home to go through to the next round
Looked less panicked at the back second half. Rafael calmed down, which helped hugely. Ronaldo kept quiet second half. Looked dangerous enough on the break too. Bad miss by RVP on the second one, first one a good effort. Welbeck and De Gea were excellent tonight. Evans quite good too. Rooney and Kagawa were awful.
Unlucky not to have taken all three in this last 16 tie.
1-1 we’ll take that. I think Madrid will score at O.T. But I think there’s more than one in united!!!
Giles with his usual rambling piss.
“You can only say if this is a good result for United after the second game.”
True Sidney but I would think they would have taken a score draw before hand…
+1, the EPL side look far better balanced and really should have wrapped up the tie in the second half.
There’s a cancer in the game. It’s dying on its feet. I look at great Irish sportsmen like Cian Healy and weep that my sport can’t produce fine, young, upstanding men like him who symbolise all that is best in sport.
