Champions League - Last 16

Having seen a few angles there, the refereeā€™s view, and certainly the still image at the time of contact, would suggest a red card was the right call. It was certainly a possible red. Keane fairly adamant it was the right decision.

ā€œDid I give the referee the opportunity to send me offā€

Thats a brilliant way of putting it.

Jose :smiley:

The red card was a very harsh red and United have every right to feel aggrieved. Nani was a windy cunt to not go with his head but he always takes balls down with his leg up in the air like that. They can only blame themselves for the way they shit themselves in the immediate aftermath though. You could say that the sheer shock value of it knocked the stuffing out of them but still canā€™t afford to collapse the way they did. Either side of that little period they were comfortable enough but little enough consolation. Giggs had an unreal game for a near 40 year old.
Keane nearly losing it here on ITV :smiley:

10 v 11, pal.

Iā€™d agree on top, marginally though. Utd had scored a lucky goal and werent exactly battering Madrid at the time of the red card. As you say though, Utd had the chances

Watching TV3 here. By Shay Givenā€™s body language when Brian Kerr is talking Iā€™d say he was one of the players who was lost when Kerr ā€œlost the dressing roomā€ā€¦

Suppose everyoneā€™s waiting for THE interviewā€¦

Kevin Kilbane is going to make a very good career for himself as a pundit. One of my all time favourite players too. I urge you all to follow him on twitter and to support his charity work.

Cleverly was all over the shop for the first goal. He was tracking Modric and the ball broke to him but he wasnā€™t paying attention so just let it run away from him. Then he followed the ball away from Modric and was stunned when it was rolled straight back to him. You need to be far more disciplined in that role.

Canā€™t wait to see fergie have an aneurism on tv.:slight_smile:

Ferguson gives interviews at half time but not full time.

ITV coverage sucks.

Is Keane dyeing the hair? He certainly looks like his wife cut it

Shamelessly robbed from twitter

Least convincing Nani decision since Louise Woodwardā€™s trialā€¦:smiley:

Tom Cleverley is your archetypal British midfielder, football snobs like me look down on players like him with the utmost disdain. Always flustered, never in control and liable to do something mental at any second in addition to being technically shit. Ashley Young is another gowl of a footballer, he is notorious for going through the motions and trying to lap up imbecilic fans for his workrate, did you see him charging down the corners like a demented fool with twenty seconds injury time to go? An absolute cretin.

 • Arbeloa was very fortunate not to be sent off in the first half;
 • Varane tried to be too cute for the goal - poor decision to attempt a smart pass in his own box;
 • I thought the Nani sending off should have been a yellow card;
 • Rafael should have been sent off for the handball on the line;
 • Ronaldo confirmed his status as the best player in the world with Messi in the midst of a slump in form (the Argentine having only scored in his last 16 league games in a row);
 • That could be the making of Modric at Real Madrid - heā€™s been getting slaughtered over there and was voted worst signing of the season recently;
 • Welbeck was very good indeed;
 • Ferguson actually got it right with his team selection and tactics - the sending off changed the game;

Nothing can get in the way of the news at ten.:slight_smile:

Zlatan is the best player in the world right now, pal.

Mullach Ide, cat got your tongue?
