United could go down 3 or 4 nil at the Bernabeu rendering the 2nd leg meaningless. Celtic will draw the first leg and really should hammer the wops in Paradise. Bayern will probably destroy Arsenal over 2 legs.
Someone throw up St Martinās post match interview from the Stadio Delle Alpe when Amoruso (cunt) dived
We canāt draw the first leg and beat them in Paradise, pal.
The first leg is in Celtic Park.
Celtic have beaten Juventus at home in each of their two European Cup / Champions League clashes to date. The trip to Turin will be Celticās third tie against Juventus in the city - 3 games in 3 different stadiums.
Even if Ronaldo is missing Madridās other 9 players are still better than the best Utd have to offer, Iām afraid.
Madrid will take a lead to OT and once they score there its tie over. the gas thing is had Utd finished 2nd they would have gotten the handiest of the group winners in Schalke.
Iād give Arsenal a chance if they were away first, even if they take a lead to Munich I just cannot see them getting through over there.
0-0 for Celtic at home would be a great result to take over there. I just canāt see anything other than defeat in both legs sadly however.
the other ties I fancy Porto, PSG, Schalke, Barcelona & Dortmund to advance.
Its just the way it goes I guess. No easy draws at this stage. United have to get Vidic back to his best by the time Real comes around. They have given up on La Liga so this is their only focus.
First Leg is Wednesday the 13th of February with the return leg on Tuesday the 5th of March.
Currently, Madrid would wipe the floor with UTD. Holding their poor form up in La Liga as a positive is kinda ridiculous as La Liga is a far superior league. Utd are woeful in midfield, and I dont doubt they will improve at the back, but madrid will steam roll them in the middle.
Madrid are awful at the back, United will score at the Bernabeau. Madrid far stronger in midfield but United have a chance over the two legs which could be very high scoring.
Suarez will be delighted with a trip to Zenit in the Thursday night Cup after what their fans said during the week.
Wrong thread mate
Turin, you say?
Brilliant
Borussia Dortmund will win it out.
Jesus, the hyperbole around the MU / Facists tie is ridiculous. Paddy Crerand reckons its a battle between the ātwo most romantic teams in europeā. So Paddy thinks facism is romantic. His late run for COTY is gaining momentum. Neither of them will win the tournament, but journoās are buying into the hype.
Barca / Milan is a much more enticing prospect.
As observed above, both British teams may well be out at this stage. Celtic have a great chance against Juve. Dortmund are the dark horses in this though.
Celtic will be beaten
Barca / Milan doesnāt really appeal to me. Theyāve met four times in the last year or two in the competition already and Milan are severely weakened since then too without Zlatan, Thiago Silva and others.
Hoping to try and head to the Milan game or the Porto game as they fall during the holidays. How easy/hard will it be to get tickets? Flights to Milan are 48quid return from here at the minute.
Milan home tickets should be relatively easy to get. You can buy them in banks and stuff over there. Canāt see Porto being too difficult to acquire either given the size of their ground and their draw.
I know heās cup-tied anyway but I wonder if the draw means Gary Hooperās proposed move to Juventus will be postponed until the summer. Perhaps a deal with a summer transfer date will be agreed/signed and announced in January.
As Bandage says theyāre generally very easy to come by. Iāve bought tickets for a Milan CL knockout game and a Milan derby at short notice in the bank before. Presume that hasnāt changed. Just bring your passport to the bank when youāre buying them.
Paolo De Ceglie suffered a calf strain last night and hasnāt travelled to Glasgow with the Juve squad today. Mirko Vucinic went off with an injury but heās in the 22-man squad. Kwadwo Asamoah is making his way to Glasgow directly from Africa after Ghana were eliminated in the African Cup of Nations semi-finals. Heās their first choice left wing back all being equal so heās likely to come in for De Ceglie if heās deemed ready. There were reports of Pirlo being doubtful with a thigh strain but he played the full 90 minutes last night.
