Yes, straight knockout is the only way.
AgreedâŚTV Corporations will never agree to that though.
Juve battered Sevilla tonight.
If Dorus DeVries was in goal for Sevilla, Juve would have won 5-0.
With the tournament confined to domestic champions like it used to be.
Real Madrid pulled it out of the fire with two goals in the last minute or so to win 2-1.
Dont UEFA want to allow a âwild cardâ selection going forward? They may as well go ahead and create that Superleague and be done with it.

Letting also-rans like the Spuds in is a joke. Stinking up the joint.
At least the Champions of England did their league proud.

If right was right, Spurs like Real Madrid, Manchester City, Woolwich, Dortmund and Monaco wouldnât be in it this season.
Problem with that is it allows a turkey shoot.
You will have the German, Italian, Spanish, English, Portuguese and French Champions who have a decent chance of winning.
Of the domestic sides that came through the qualifying side of the Champions draw in this match round:
Celtic lost 7-0 to Barca
Legia lost 6-0 at home to Dortmund
Zagreb lost 3-0 at Lyon
They are little more than cannon fodder.
Good point, pal.

Yeah, football has evolved or rather condensed now to a concentration of all the best talent to a few elite super franchises and the rest are just cannon fodder. Even in the last round of qualifiers you had a former champion Steau Bucharest beaten 5-0 at home by the fourth placed side from England. The eradication of an Eastern European element and the decline into irrelevance of the likes of Ajax, Gothenburg, Celtic/Rangers has been very damaging to the competitiveness of the tournament.
Its utterly pointless have never ending rounds of games for nine months before you reach the quarter final stages in March when you can pretty much handpick that the last 8 will be Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Bayern Munich, Dortmund, PSG and Manchester City.
