Champions League Matchday 2

I was reading the Scottish press earlier and there’s direct quotes from Naka confirming that he’s out of both tomorrow night and the game against Dundee United on Saturday and doesn’t know whether he’ll make it back in time for Milan on Wednesday week. The injury is a strained medial ligament in his knee. We could seriously do with him being available as he’ll be massively important in helping us to retain the ball and most of our attacks go through him also.

Against all the odds I’m declaring myself available for the trip to Glasgow for the Milan home game.

Itinerary:
06:30 field call from Bandage who’s availing of the full Irish breakfast upstairs in the food court at the airport
06:40 field call from Dancingbaby who has forgotten a passport/driving license etc.
06:55 first sight of Dancingbaby in green check shirt
07:00 5 minutes on TFK from Pier A
07:10 flight from Dublin to Glasgow
08:00 land in Prestwick
09:00 after waiting an hour at the freezing train station, finally board the train to Glasgow Central
10:00 present ourselves for check-in at Euro Hostel
10:25 computer difficulties resolved at Euro Hostel and check-in completed.
10:30 bags deposited in left luggage
10:32 pool in Osmosis with a couple of Krombachers
12:10 trip to Pizza Hut at the fast-food crossroads where Jamaica Street meets Argyle Street (Burger King, McDonald’s, KFC, Pizza Hut all within spitting distance) for the all you can eat buffet
13:00 fourth trip to pizza bar and second free beverage refill
13:15 return to Euro Hostel to collect keys
13:25 Bandage departs for dump
13:45 Bandage returns and return downstairs to Osmosis
14:05 two more games of pool before a leisurely departure up time
14:40 browse in Celtic store in Argyle Street
15:20 arrive in the Gallowgate
15:30 couple of leisurely bottles of Becks in Baird’s
17:00 departure for Tr na ng
17:04 bottles of Becks in Tr na ng listening to whatever band is on
18:00 vow to depart at 18:15
18:40 departure for Celtic Park
19:47 Celtic go two up
21:33 final whistle as Celtic secure comfortable victory

After that it’s anyone’s guess.

Smashing itinerary Rocko, almost wish I could be there. Of course I’ll be off shooting my load over the EPL so won’t be able to make it and also I’d prefer not to see Bandage in his swimming togs. Only one dump from Bandage? He keeps me reasonably well-informed on his bowel movements and I’d imagine he’ll need more than the one.

Naka would be a massive loss for ye. Currently Celtic’s only outfield world class player.

im slightly concerned that according to his itinerary, Rock is getting a flight from Dublin to Glasgow but is landing in Prestwick ??

Book the lavish accomodation of the Euro Hostel tonight for us then rocko.

I’m also slightly worried that I won’t have ample time for a satisfactory pre-match dump given the above itinerary.

Quick tip bandage. Buy a tetra pak pint of milk. Imbibe said dairy juice. All of it. The slightly bloated feeling should bring on that dump nicely. Find a quiet sidestreet/corner or if in a bar, loosen the jeans and slip back off the stool(bar variety) slightly. Open the now empty tetra pak fully(this is of the utmost importance) and let your prematch worries slide out. Use napkins procurred from your earlier pizza hut/bk/mcd etc. to ‘tidy up’. Rebag yourself. Shut tetra pak and pop into nearest bin. Hey clean hoop presto.

Quality tip.

As an environmentalist I might remind Bandage that Tetra Paks are now fully recyclable so a green bin should be fine for disposal purposes.

Euro Hostel is booked Bandage.

Good work on that and the forum tonight.

One thing - where did the signatures go?

ticket sorted

2 short, dob-m sort it out with the wise man

i think the hotel im in has leisure facilities , if not bandage ill be looking to share your pool around 11.30 in the morning before ihead out to the match- probably need a rub down too

for those armchair fans/barstoolers amongst us, RTE will be showing Man United vs AS Roma and Celtic vs AC Milan live next week

I nearly fell off my seat at the end of their coverage of the Sporting Lisbon-Manchester United game last Wednesday when Bill said, ‘Join us in two weeks for Manchester United-Roma and Celtic-Milan’. They’re actually showing Celtic! ‘There’s only one Stephen Alkin, one Stephen Alkin.’ All the emails from the piedpiper/larry duff must have paid off.

Im going to miss the bloody Utd game becasue of poxy college, I may be tempted to skip out early to catch it though.

I’ll be watching the Celtic - Milan game on the Wednesday. Valencia - Chelsea & Lazio - Real Madrid could be worth a look too.

Cheers Juhniallio - just practiced that at home and it worked a treat. Can’t find our green bin out the front so just put the carton back in the fridge.

Anyone have any idea what Wilson’s injury is?

Doumbe and Hartley were injured last night too.

Going over Tuesday on the Ulysses to see the United game with an overnight stay. Hopefully should be a good game between United and Roma. Roma wanting revenge from last season should give it an extra edge to it.

Don’t be mentioning boat names on here. If Benshermin sees this he’ll give you the history of it, dimensions, crew numbers etc…

Built in 2001 in Aker Finnyards, Finland, she is the Largest Car Ferry in the world with no less then 4 kilometers of Lane space on board for cars, articulated lorries, coaches etc. She is capaple of carrying 1,875 passengers and has 228 beds to keep her passengers comfortable.

Finally she is operated by Irish Ferries on the Dublin Ferryport to Holyhead route, running two round trips a day. Her port of registery is Limassol and she flies a Cypriot flag.

Maybe Captainshan could arrive out to the ferry early and BenShermin could give him a behind the scenes guided tour of the boat?

Wouldn’t do that Irish Ferries are a disgrace of a company. I try my best never to travel with them, because I feel they compromise my personal safety with a foreign crew most of whom do not have the level of English that would be needed in an emergency situation. It’s a disgrace that they call themselves “Irish” when not one member of Irish or U.K. crew work on their ships!

I’ll give you a tour of any of the Stena Line ships anyday Shanley!!!
